Speculation: Coupled with the reports that this is the last ever character wipe, it certainly seems that we are being encouraged to form a population of players that is SP laden before open beta.
Is this an effort to separate players by SP to test matchmaking? WIll players with large amounts of SP accrued by open beta then be sequestered from the new mercs entering the field?
It could also help the developers to make interpolations about player population interaction months or years into the game where there will inevitably always be new players with little or no SP and long time players with a lot of maxed out skills. Or it could just be a treat?
But it does not at all look like we are headed for a final reset, level playing field at the starting gate when the game goes public. |

New cap isn't really gonna let players that tested in closed beta get all that far ahead. Otherwise, your post is rather incitefull it terms of 'fairness'. But then its New Eden...how fair can it be? |

I do think that this is the last wipe. Aside from when they removed learning skills, what a year two years ago, there has never been a rest of skills on the "live" server. Eve Online has always, and always will be played by big boy rules. This is it kids, this is for all the marbles.

Ha. There is that. Turret operation level 3 maybe?
Then again, SP earnings could be changed drastically after character re-set. Nothing says they are set in stone at this point. Would be kind of funny if even the top players started out earning 2,000 max a match and ran into diminishing returns from there.
In any case I'll take it. |

I wish it was 1,000,000 then I could be happy about it but 100,000 is less than one level 3 weapon skill  |

You seriously need to change your reading material in your bathroom.
Puppy Huggers United doesn't work well in this section of space.
They have said repeatedly that we are getting some rewards for being Beta testers. This is part of it. However, in fairness, you should start a new alt two weeks after release. Seeing how you have all this insider information it would make you playing with noobs more balanced.
We will watch. It'll be fun. |
