EVE skill point gain is completely passive. DUST gets a bonus to being active but there is a limit to the bonus.
Do you feel that DUST isn't worth playing after you hit the SP cap? If not, what keeps you playing? |

It's a daily cap anyway and at 20m a match you're looking at 3 hours a day to play Dust to hit the cap every day.
If you play more than that you really ******* need to get out. |

why do people continue to play COD or Battlefield 3 once they've unlocked everything, for that little bit of satisfaction that grows every time you out play someone
Does not happen me all that often but when it does it is so so sweet,
Skill points and upgrades and all that shiny stuff is great but the ultimate satisfaction should be coming from enjoying the game play. |

How I understand it, there will be tangible gains to be made in the EVE universe in regards to planet control. So right now, yes, SP and the game itself are the only rewards. But hopefully, Dust will impact the game and meta game of EVE online, and vice versa. |

I keep playing, because I always have a good group to run with. And the game is great fun when you run with people you get along with. |

SP will actually be one of peoples least concerns later down the road. |

Most likely yes. I would just love to see how the market is going to be set up. That'll be the real test. I wonder if we'll get market and manufacture skills like EVE players? It's plainly obvious that the current reward will not always be the only reward. And the good thing about CCP is that they usually deliver what they promise.

Personally, I like the responses I've seen so far. I'd gotten the impression by some threads that SP was the end all to DUST. |

I play to enjoy the match. I play for the social element. I play for the ISK. I play for the SP.
If I stop getting SP nothing else goes away.
If you don't enjoy playing matches after hitting the SP cap maybe the game isn't for you, or you need to relax and mix things up so you are having fun. Or maybe do something else for a while?

Production etc has been confirmed as being on the roadmap, it could be 5 months or 5 years away. |

You're playing with Test though, it's like people playing with us goons. It's already a community without the damn game so we've always got something to do even if it's not actual games in the game.

This.
Talking metagame and shooting the sh*t. It's not like you're doomed if you reached daily cap. God forbid anyone just have fun with the damn game. |

A lot of the players here haven't really experienced what War is like in EVE, it's a lot more demanding and time consuming and requires much, much more :effort: than a lot of people here will be prepared to give long term.
We won't see any real long term, "great war" style wars in Dust for quite some time, that's without even looking at the political landscape in EVE which is very, very onesided and stable right now. |
