Sorry very high right now but am watching some eve and dust videos on youtube and one thing popped into my mind ( which is unusual as I'm nearly a complete zombie right now) BUT, I was just thinking wouldn't be be amazing for your clone to drop in from an orbiting space ship?
I get it not going to happen........ BUT wouldn't it just be class, come to think of it, it kinda reminds me of the opening cinimatic to Quake two, now that was an opening scene! |

It would be cool. Give us a drop area & the ability to choose where in area to drop & give limited maneuverability to pod/clone for minor adjustments. As I stated in prior post somewhere, what else are the inertial dampeners for on the suit? Just to jump off buildings & the occasional drop ship that's about to blow? |

come to think of it, if you land on a red dot with the dampners active will that make them more akin to red paste with expensive bits? hmm must put on a heavy suit find a pilot and find out |

You orbital drop in when you spawn on your squad leader in Planetside 2. It's pretty cool, I guess, but one thing to bear in mind is that it's easy to see something coming down from space versus suddenly appearing at ground level. You're asking for a cosmetic thing that will become unimpressive after you've done it enough, carrying with it the side-effect that you can see where the enemy is spawning based on the orbital drop locations, and vice versa. |

Dropping from actual orbit would take several minutes, so I imagine we'd just be dropping from really high up. There would be some logistical kinks to work out, but it's feasible. I'm just not sure it's the highest priority right now, as it's really cosmetic and doesn't affect how the game is played all that much (with the exception of helping to orient the player as you're getting into the fight). |
