Quote:Here are the details regarding the skill point reward system change at downtime today. To make comparisons between the old and the new system easier, weGÇÖve included outlines of both below. Old system:
- Weekly cycle (reset every Tuesday)
- Weekly allowance of 190,400 SP per week (7x 27,200 SP, hard-capped)
- Diminishing returns on warpoints and time spent GÇô the more you play, the less you get (until you hit the cap)
- No consolation prize GÇô once you hit the cap, you get nothing
New system:
- Daily cycle (reset at downtime)
- Daily allowance of 27,200 SP per day (hard-capped)
- Linear returns to warpoints and time spent GÇô the better you play, the more you earn (until you hit the cap)
- Warpoints earned are converted into skillpoints (1 WP = 1 SP) - Time spent in battle grants SP (1 second = 5 SP) - Consolation prize of 50 SP per battle once the daily cap has been hit
Thoughts?
Not sure if good or bad, but this should keep players constantly on every night of the week instead of numbers diminishing the closer it got to the weekly SP reset.
Also based on a 15 minuet Ambush match, you are guaranteed 4,500 SP if you are in the match from the start. Then whatever WP you get is added to that.
Should be interesting, and I like the idea of a linear cap instead of diminishing. As the diminishing cap made it much harder for those who don't play all the time to reach the cap. |

Rubbish idea. Everyone has already said that a daily cap is bad. Go go CCP, ignore the community more please. Like with Dropsuit restricted matches. They haven't returned yet. Not cool. |

Personally I would think that adjusting the cap and resetting it on something like Tuesdays and Fridays would be best. |

Yep its awful and I would so be hating on CCP right now if it wasnt for the rumor that they have a plan to make a pool where sp rolls over.
If this turns out not to be the case and god forbid we take a day off dust and loose sp forever im gona be so pissed i wont ever shut up about it.
CCP all you have to do to stop all the nerd rage is post a single sentence.
"yes we are working on an sp system with a daily cap but dont worry we are planning to have a roll over SP pool so it wont matter if you miss a few days because you have a life"
Thats all you need to say.
We all understand doing it takes time just tell us your on the case. |

Why are you entitled to more SP the more you play? Having a contstant advancement rate means that new players won't be drastically underskilled to the point of being uncompetitive. Also, won't you be able to just log in another character and use them?
Besides, there are other alternatives, right? Like getting more WP or loot once you've hit your cap or something... |

Really? Why should i get stronger then you for battling while you watch t.v? Lawl think about what you said. You might as well have said "why should you get paid for working while i get nothing for doing...nothing" then you will sit down and slowly start to realize hard workers deserve more. |

Just a thought but, dont you think that this is just a little pointless right now. After getting over 500K a week does this mean a character reset and if not what is the point of changing the sp now. they should start everyone a fresh to test this new sp system properly.
If new players are introduced now, they will not have a hope in hell against the vet players.

I was thinking the exact same.
Keep the weekly cap but just have two resets in one week, I think that could work. |

That's how EVE was when I played it, probably still is. You get SP even when you are out of the game. |

So in reality it translates to this....
27,200 SP CAP
Skirmish matches generally last about 20 minutes [math] - 1 second = 5 SP & 1 WP = 1 SP 60 x 5 = 300 war points/minute x 20 = 6,000 war points/game (assume 1,000 WP a game) + 1000 = 7,000 SP/game
So in theory... we would be reaching our hard cap in about 4-5 games of full games of skirmish..... plus the extra 50 every game you complete as compensation.
Also, can't forget about passive SP (assuming this isn't included in the hard cap) - 1 SP/4 seconds - calculates to 21,600 SP off of Passive SP alone
So really we will be getting AT LEAST 48,800 SP daily |
