"Dust is essentially an MMOFPS but we've really all played the FPS part of that equation before, the game is something very different because of the MMO part. MMOs have a social element that goes way beyond shooting guns and shooting swarm launchers at tanks. Many players can't wait to delve into the meat of New Eden and buy salvage from mercs and suddenly become the go-to guy with the best price on Balac-21 Assault Rifles in the galaxy. The anticipation is growing for us as well. We can't wait for the time when we're able to login and watch Empress Jamyl deliver one of her rousing speeches in full third person glory in a social event or visit the Jita Marketplace. We're sure spies are eagerly awaiting the chance to skulk around taverns and space stations in close proximity to strangers, with their ears open for information spilled from the mouths of those without the good sense to make their conversations private. MMOs are more than shooting, more than throwing grenades and more than waiting on the tiny replenishing machines in the nearest nanite injector. They are also about visting another Corp HQ to talk alliance, putting salvage we dont use in our Corp War Chests for corpmates who do, talking strategy with our corpmates in the War Room or training new recruits in the Virtual Reality Trainer. Here are a few other things we're eagerly anticipating."

Crafting, mining, and selling things in a market do not make a good immerse tactical battlefield that Dust is lacking at the moment. Every match now is just the bs part of the beta for the main part the skill sheet.
Since you can Craft, mine, and sell things in Eve why not keep it that way . Also were supposed to be frontline mercs not in the rear combat engineers. No one needs you picking flowers in the middle of a gunfight while a dropship begins to take the other squads position.
I thought Corps will have both Dust and Eve players meaning you will have people that like to mine , craft, and sell things in Eve. It really ruins my FPS experience when i have to buy every thing over and over again keeping me more inclined to use militia gear when a MMO players love to craft and could make 100,000 of everything quick one night in Eve for the battle the next day. Giving the loss that Eve players want and not upsetting the FPS players because we know were going to die " its a FPS'
Jack of all trade games never get high praise other than it it does a lot. Since a connection has never been done before it has to be perfect, or may never be tried again for years and be known as the CCP failure in the FPS community . |

Dont entertain him. The dude and his cult are a bunch of morons. They arent even in the game. All they publish is all nonsense. Someone cant hack it in RL and so he spends his time practising on this forum. |

hold on, you h8 having limited gear? it ruins your experience? u could be playing the wrong game then. which confuses me, plenty of games that dont do that for you to play. save yourself the heartache and play one of those, yeah?

The returns and bs of the mechanics like spawning in this beta dont really inspire me to want to get out of my militia fit and always use the best of the best to play. As well as the only reason to get SP is to fix what should be working in the first place .
I just bought the laser to try it and seems like a cool weapon, but because of SP in it becomes utterly useless 9 out 10 games.where my AR has SP in it so why get killed for no reason wasting time with a broken weapon. Also when you make people feel there losing by playing it creates snipers, vehicles hiding , and people scared to want go the extra mile for the win. Its the reason why there is a thread everyday nerf militia they killed something of mine and its so expensive blah blah blah because i want to be immortal RPG player. Ive played MMORPG`s before and know that their point is to get the character not to die ever for fear of being punished, but that concept really doesnt come into play well when you have to defend a hill objective from a bombing run and 3 squads that want that hill. Its a FPS your going to die and your going to die a lot , its one of the common themes in decent player count games. There is no way you can have a 30 min long battle in Dust because of gear requirements before a match.
what i suggested makes the connection worth a dam , gives the RPG Eve player that gear and isk is being lost, and makes FPS players want to Skill up to get new toys that work and dont hold back. If ive skilled to use the best weapon that takes time to get i should be able to use it. I can use the devoult and i know i spelt it wrong , but dont care to use it thats a shame in a FPS because its just more a burden and adds no unique look or feel.
Im in the right game. but are you in the right genre???
Were superposed to be immortals that dont fear death because we get re cloned , but the battlefield shows such opposite effect of pansy mercs hiding in the corner and camping objectives instead of taking them for fear of being killed. Ive never seen a tank hide in the redzone before Dust. |

u actually make a pretty good point about people sitting back, but whats the solution? ur saying its bigger disparity of gear? wont that turn away new players and make the game less skill based? the real incentive for winning is no ISK pay out when you lose. give people low level matches where they can grind for 30,00-60,000 ISK and not worry about winning or losing, but for middle level and high rewards give losers a ISK goose egg. oh and give quitters a 50 pt SP penalty when they leave match, quit gm or turn off system since that can be tracked. u know how fps players are. fastest quitters in town.
i dont understand what u were saying about lasers, user skill will never be equal tho. plenty of people use the 1st tier laser and are good with it. maybe it just doesnt suit you. |

Because this beta keeps throwing RPG solutions at a FPS and keeps thinking its going to finally fix the FPS. Sometimes its just reminds me of that character Rick in Anchorman shouting out things that he loves because he has no understanding of the word being used. " I love lamp". Stop thinking RPG stat craziness and focus more on the customization of the game. IF i worry that the scope will not be there the next time i just wont use it to defend a important position and stay in the basic minimum. Also this game needs to stop feeling like a ISK black hole. This beta does absolutely nothing to want me to play on the battlefield and doesn't seem to want to fix the biggest part of the game the battlefield experience.
Also you dont know how to use the weapon is always just a bs argument. How i aim a weapon and how many hits i hit a player has no bearing on damage in this game still. I can spend 10 mins with the laser pointed on your head and maybe not get through your shields with low SP on it. It can feel like one step below actually playing a MMORPG combat, now i just have to keep hitting A instead of once and seeing scrolling text miss miss miss laser level 1 miss miss miss laser level 2. That i hate about RPG`s
For a Dust merc , SP and ISK should just be about being certified to use new toys and not fixing old toys. Everything feels like im buying everything at the salvation army store and having to put it back together. |
