Just thought about how cool it would be if we had turrets that was a flamethrower for crowd control and or objective denial. |

Sounds like a short ranged weapon on a big map. It would be nice if you could place it down as an automatic turret.
But on Tanks and LAV its pointless due to constant movement. |

Maybe for the Zombie edition, otherwise, No.
Flames don't propagate nor persist currently. That isn't going to change. Game engine and environment modifications required.
Some dweeb shooting flames is just asking to get Forged the Kitten out of their comfy little spot. |

Plus not every planet we will be playing on will have an atmosphere, so flames couldn't exist. I t wouldn't make sense to have a turret class that would only work on certain planets. |

Or we fight on a planet with an oxygen and methane rich atmosphere light the flamethrower and burn down the planet. Of course I am wearing an advanced suit of armor with shields and the ability to drop from high altitude onto a planet, and you want to take a match and can of hairspray against that? |

I think it would be cool if we could call in turret emplacements like vehicles. So we could set up our own defensive perimeter in skirmish. |

BTW,I'm not only suggesting flame throwing turrets. I would like to see other types as well. |

Laser turrets and projectiles (autocannon/artillery) will be added, I'm sure. They need to fix rockets, I mean missiles. |

Their range is too low and there's no lockon. I've sat and fired volley after volley at stationary infantry with 0 dmg done. Damn thing might as well be firing water balloons like kuratas the real life mech.
There should be a lockon for each missile like in armored core. Or something similar so to not copy another franchise. The whole system needs to be redone imo. The current one is inadequate. |

When CCP lets some of us become commanders in MCC's, that's when we'll be able to do that. Although I have doubts that this will be implemented into the pub matches, there is too much reliance on the commanders if they are picked at random... What if one of them went AFK before deploying and the whole team is left without any installations now?
On the other hand, the way the random selection could work is if only people who have a fitting with special Commander dropsuits can be picked for the job. That eliminates the possibility of an inexperienced rookie getting into the MCC and having no idea what to do.
OP - new turret types would certainly be welcomed by me. Except probably not the flamethrower, but another close-range turret could work, like maybe spikes or shock surges...
And yes, they certainly need to fix missiles. I would also prefer some sort of splash damage, because I personally don't see any, just the visual effects.
