I've read about others and their officer weapons, but I had no idea they were THIS powerful. 
Equipped my advanced assault type-B suit tonight for the first time with an officer weapon, Balac's GAR -21 Assault Rifle (35.8 HP, 857.1 RPM, accuracy 57.0, and clip size of 72). And WOW, I had no idea they were so much of an advantage over the reg weapons. This thing shoots as fast as an SMG but with equivalent (if not better) power and accuracy as a Proto AR!
All I had to do was look at another player and they were toast nearly instantly (BTW I'm currently using two 10% damage mods). I could even smoke one of those super-crazy heavies as long as I was not right in front of them. 
All I have to say is, if you can use those weapons... USE THEM! No reason to hold onto them as the beta means nothing for stock-piling reasons.

Agreed.
However, I feel that the officer weapons should have retained the scope sight instead of being demoted to standard grunt iron sights.

Those Officer weapons really are overpowered. No doubt about it. But from a salvage point of view they are very balanced because they are SUPER RARE and can only be gained through salvage! I have salvaged a lot of stuff since Precursor and so far I have only gotten 5x sniper rifles that are just a tier below officer level and that was it and those things alone were nearly god mode in a gun. I can only imagine the officer weapons.
Now imagine selling these weapons in the player-driven market. You would no doubt sell them for about 1 million ISK a piece at least. |

If getting them in release is as hard as it is to get officer modules and weapons on EVE then it's going to be majorly rare for someone to use them. |

yea it's basically like your walking around with a proto blaster only with a smaller clip, they also got nerfed with the other ARs |

I believe officer weapons have many different variants which makes we wonder why regular weapons don't have as many. |

In the future you will have to kill the officer for a chance at getting them via pve and by that time comes around, they're going to be in full officer fit, Suit, Modules and Gun. |

Not as powerful as you make it out to be...dust is rarely 1v1 and any gun can kill very quickly. I will be interested to see what else comes of it all. |

The market price should adjust according to both stock and demand. I can definitely see them going for at least around 5x to 10x the price of equivalent proto items. |

No offense,but thank goodness.You were raping in a match that I was in with you recently,and the less one shot kills you get on me and my team,the better.
Wish they wouldn't have nerfed any of the Officer's weapons though.The PCP-10 use to do something like 114 hp damage,but now it's well under 100. |

Ya use them for corp matches not for pubstomping, If I catch some one using an officer weapon in a pubbie I tend to focus all of my attention looking for them. Unless of course the new build is coming soon then might as well use everything up. Thats when we will see a ton of proto suits running around and I may drop in multiple sagarises for anyone to drive |

Yeah they are definitely crazy rare, in the ~3 months I have been playing without a reset, I have gotten only 20 officer AR's, 10 were the Balac's and the other 10 were under another name, but same stats I think.
I doubt I would ever use them in the release build due to their resale price and rarity, but they are sure fun to use up now! I was incredibly reckless in my playing last night, but I felt near invincible with that gun. I even accidentally got revived by a blue dot and ended up taking out the 2-3 people who killed me originally (one of which was a decently speced heavy).
When the release build does come around and the markets are fully operational with EVE, players are going to be making bank on all the officer gear they get for weapons they won't (or can't) use.

I actually am doing much better with the iron sights, not sure if it's due to the new aiming feel or the sights themselves, but I really like them. I have no problem taking people out at range , and medium range shots are much easier to get and hold on the enemy.
Hip-firing though is a different story, I was much of a better hip-fire shot in the previous build, in Chromosome I really suck at it. Even with the officer weapon I got owned by somebody with an Exile who had better tracking skills in a hip-fire dual.

I think you mean thank god your a heavy - I tried this myself on my best heavy suit.
I completely dominated. Even the proto assault guys I normally look out for dropped in seconds. |

I got some Gatsun HMGs the other day. But I only got them when I switched to an AR fit for a couple of matches the other day. It seems the salvage system likes to give you things you can't use if your speced into a certain fit. In my eyes anyways. |

I can't wait to see the ISK prices and anyone that uses them and dies once be completely non efficient that match. 
But I have yet to get any really in salvage but I don't really look at officer gear as usable with my fits, although I don't have the skills to use any officer gun unless forge >.> |

Officer weapons in Eve are also very powerful but they are also very very expensive. so expensive to the point that some of them you just can't even use. For instance, Estemel's Invuln field. Gives 50% to all resistances but costs 40 Billion isk last i saw it. Just because officer items are available doesnt mean they'll get used. Especially with the nature of Dust and being able to get killed so much. I will admit some players are very good an officer weapons might be worth it but still the risk is very very high to be carrying around a small blaster. |
