 What is the difference between the factions arsenal wise?Are there any differences at all besides their political views & military philosophy?

 From what I recall, the short answer is (if looking at EVE and ships):

 Amarr: Lasers and heaviest armour plating there is.
 Caldari: Preference for missile weapons and railguns. Also the strongest shields.
 Gallente: Preference for drones and a mild focus on armour over shields.
 Minmatar: Projectile turrets (autocannons, that require no capacitors to fire) and a mild focus on shields over armour.

 Someone else might give a better answer or correct me if I am wrong

 Correct with a few notes.

 Caldari also have an affinity for electronic equipment, and their EW (Electronic Warfare) boats are the best.
 Gallente have a preference for drones and hybrid weapons, which consist of both rail guns (for long range) and blasters (for short range).
 Minmatar design also focus on speed, their ships are the fastest and most agile for each class.

 As for political views I would check out the wiki page concerning this subject:

 http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Empire_Factions

 Hope that might help.

 Caldari -> Shiney boots and well-ironed shirts.
 Gallente -> Flying dildos and giant turds for ships.
 Amarr -> The cross and a little bit of arrogance.
 Minmatar -> Duck tape.

 Those are the weapons.
