I've noticed that usually the first to run from an OS is usually one of the first to die every time.
I even try get outside that circle that shows up where an OS is called and i normally die running. Yet I remember one time i was a heavy and a OS was called with me being dead center of it, I didn't even try to move just said my prays and I SURVIVED.
Does anybody relate to me in these OS situations or was it a 1 in a 1000 chance of survival? |

Don't know about this build, but in last build one could survive OS, since the eye of the strike was somewhat safe area. |

It is I think. One time I was right in the middle of one, and I could see people getting wiped out, and I was just waiting my turn, but I didn't get killed. |

It's like the rain - if you run you will get hit more than if you walk. |

Just last weekend a OB strike hit our letter, I just stood there with my heavy and accepted the fate. I took some splash damage but didn't die. The lucky stars where on my side that time, usually I'm toast. |

It's probably because if you noticed the lasers, they're all in a circle, so the strike probably gets shot in a circle shape guided by the lasers. |

Ah but the additional time in the rain could end up making you wetter. I all depends on the rate of the rainfall vs your time spent in the rain.
However I will try the whole run to the middle of the light thing next time and then just stand there. If I am screwed anyway might as well try it out. |

I always stand still too. Though it can be hard determining exactly where the centre of the OB is... But it is definitly possible. |

Yeah normally when i'm a heavy I either try to finish the hack or try to finish the kill.
I mostly never finish. |

Something like this happened to me today. The strike came down and I just sat there. I took a little splash but survived. I thought I was under the pipes, but afterwards I looked up and I had no cover. Maybe I was near the center. |

most likely, that's the sweet spot in OS.
But the real funny thing is when you have the least amount of faith, you get lucky. |

I've escaped OBs by dropping elevation ( jumping off of buildings) but running on flat surface half the time cover doesnt even work its like a tornado that can hit you under the house.... |

Not really. Crazy wind would of course affect it but mostly rain falls straight down. You are much bigger target from the front than from the top so the faster you move the wetter you get. When you run you are getting hit from above but also moving into raindrops that would otherwise have fallen on the ground in front of you.
Don't worry, I'm that guy...I just watched Mythbusters. One of the best shows in the history of television. |

No. It is that most of the time people are in a tight group and when you call in a OS you want to kill as many people as possible. |
