Example 1 is in matches I killed an enemy three times and yet they end the match at 10 and 0 and I end the match at 0 and 0 despite haveing killed them three times.
Example two is in an ambush match we got twenty kills before match end and the enemy got ten kills and yet we lost and they won leading to WTF? moments.
Example three Ambush map start to finish we got sixty kills total and they got 22 kills total and we lost?? WTF?? Please fix. |

Example 2 & 3: kill =/= lost clones Kill you mean as -> you put someone down.
Example 1 it is possible when someone leave battle and join again. |

Clone count kitten brains.
Look at two things in either type of match.
Ambush: First is remaining clones. Each side starts with 80, warnings at 40 and 8 (I think). Its game over regardless of the other winning condition. Which is the 15 minute timer. If the timer runs down the side with the highest clone count remaining wins. If the other side runs out of clones, who cares about the timer?
Skirmish: First is ... remaining clones. Numbers are 150 per side. Warnings at 75 and 15. Second is condition of the MCCs. If the MCC goes down then you can lose while being ahead 130 clones to 10.
Deaths and the focus on same are left over relics of days gone by, on other planets and in simpler times. KDR means nothing down here in the Dust. Some corps live and breath by it but their are ancient and focused on a life that no longer exists.
Clone count matters. Beside profit and winning, it is all that matters. If the other side is dying but being revived then the death is just number for the corps to plan their next party around.
I have joined and it looked like I had gotten on the losing side. Reds had the bases while Blue wasn't keeping a Null Cannon for long. But, Reds were down 25 clones. Cool, I thought, these Mercs I can work with. I hunted and Logi Bro'd. Took everyone I could and kept as many Blues as possible here in the real battle. Kept them repped and hived up. When the time was right I took my baby HMG a little closer to winning. Closer to getting the big HMGs. Their MCC had just lost shields when they lost the match. It was good. It was profitable. It was a win.
Winning the match matters. It pays more SP, ISK and salvage. If that means throwing deaths at the losers then that is fine by me. I have died ten times in a match and we won. We won because I revived 12 and other Logi Bros revived me six. That is 18 deaths some bean counter is worrying about when they should be learning about winning and profits. Somewhere some kitten is still wondering why they lost when the numbers were displayed for all to see in the upper left hand corner of their hud.
In the Dust, Death is Obsolete. |
