I JUST played a game, got 13\2 & was only awarded like 1,200SP... -.-
It seems, that my ability to earn skill points is limited every one in a while, for some reason... >.>
WHY?
PS: I have grown to strongly dislike(HATE)the words 'balancing' & 'nerfing' as their implementation tends to only bring unhappiness to my soul... -_- |

It is in reference to the amount that you play through out the week that we are given to accumulate SP. It is all set on a diminishing SP system the more you play the less you earn over time, till the reset on Wednesday morning(Eastern Timezone).
We have all gone something stupid good and only gotten enough SP to make you cry, and go why what did I do wrong. Don't worry though it will reset in 12 hours and you will get bunches again. |

I don't like it - I don't like being 'nerfed' - I want the points I've earned - I deserve them - I have skillz to build... -.- (God dammit - Lol) Thanks for shedding light though...

What about when you go logi god. Revive your entire team multiple time, armor rep them all game, get maybe two or three kills, mostly assists if you hit, don't die once, and top the boards on your team. Then at the end of the match you are just pondering what you did wrong to get that little tiny amount of SP, and in your head you are just wishing today could have been Wednesday.
Also at OP no prob man a lot of people don't understand this especially if you are new. |

I was kinda trying to be ironic, bragging that I got less than you....but really, this cap isn't accepted by ANYONE as of right now, and CCP will no doubt change it SOONGäó, but SOONGäó generally means "we will get to it when we get to it" in CCP speak, so it could be LATERGäó. |

They need to have a soft cap not this hard cap, I have been getting 0 sp for a while now (so have a lot of other) when I get 0 sp for a 20-1 it's pathetic. I would like to get a bare minimum of 1k sp and for this dumb argument about it stops no lifes, nothing stops no lifes any person who plays any game should know and expect this. What's does sp do? It give the player variety to spec into something else and have fun but when you have a limited amount you have to spend it wisely. This is still a beta so why not give us the FREEDOM to spec into several different classes |

The cap is there to prolong the amount of time it takes players to max out their skills and that's it(longevity is the only reason free to play games make money). If you're spending money on AUR items when you make no SP that's just more money for CCP(although I thought they were going to implement a soft cap this build). |

I would personally like to see something that doesn't diminish until the very end. As it is now, the cap slowly fades as you use up more and more of the weekly SP cap, which actually makes it harder for non 24/7 players to reach the cap. Because towards the end, I may have to play 20 matches just to get what I got in 2 matches at the start of the week.
We should get 100% of our earnings per match until our 'pool' of SP is completely used up. None of this diminishing returns stuff.

as some have already Told you there is a SP cap only to prevent Hardcore player to go too far ahead from casual or standard players and therefor destroying them and ruining the game for most people (casuals and standard) if youre a hardcore player you will have more ISK than other player which means you will be able to have and use miltiple Expensive fitting (this means being a hardcore player is rewarding somehow)
And CCP is Planning on making this a daily cap.
But Only fyi this cap i here so that new players have a chance not to be totally destroyed by someone who has time to play all week (what would make the game less fun for everyone)
Also dont do it for the SP do it for the isk (once your SP cap is reached) you will be able to try better fittings and learn how to use expensive things |

Isk is never a problem the only people this sp cap helps are vehicle users. They don't need massive amounts of sp to use their HAVs, DS, LAVs they need isk more than anything, while infantry deals with a lack of sp. |

Global Cap is the best answer to this whole situation. Keep it weekly and adjust the diminishing returns so you get the majority of your SP through maybe a set total of games played. i.e. first 70 games you get majority of SP if you do well enough more if you don't do so well.
Have it so each week compounds and if you start late or miss some time, you get to play to get back to where the rest of the players are at. In theory a beginner can eventually catch up given enough time, but a hardcore daily player always has the weekly cap.
Really impartial about the whole hard and soft cap argument, 1k sp doesn't seem like a lot at first but over each game it adds up, especially for low tier skills that you don't really wanna get but can when you start a grind. |

Ah....
Now it makes sense. I was wondering why my SP earnings dropped precipitously even while my WP scores were going up.
I thought the game was going buggy or something.
Suggestion to CCP:
Please let us know where we are in our SP cap and when it resets.
I don't think it would be hard to add something like "Experience Factor" (0-100%) to the battle debrief screen. That way we could see that our SP earnings are decreasing as we play.
The explanation could be pretty straightforward as well- "Scientists have discovered that the psychological trauma of battle interferes with mercenaries' ability to assimilate new knowledge via skill training implants. In order to prevent Mind Break, a violent dissociative disorder associated with Sleeper Implant use, CONCORD has imposed a weekly limit on skill point (SP) accumulation." |
