I was using a wireless Afterglow controller the other day when i got into beta and it works fine in menus but when i attempt to walk around i get stuttering steps, aiming down the sights zooms in and out like i keep pressing and letting go of the button and it eventually stops working. Thinking it was my controller i went out to gamestop and bought a new wired controller (store brand) after a couple hours of gameplay it does then same thing and stops working completely. cant even navigate menus. i'm hoping this is a bug and will be worked out soon, i am really enjoying the game so far and would like to continue testing and giving feedback. Has anyone else had this problem? |

That is strange. Hope a helpful member of the Dust 514 community can assist you in solving your issue. Are you using the PS3 controller or a third party controller? |

That's too bad but, this should be in the Technical support/bugs section. |

Have you considered buying the original DualShock 3 that is usually accompanied with the PS3? I have that and I get no problems with it. |

When it stops working ... does the PS button work ? Or does everything stop.
For the wireless I'd have suggested interference but if it's the same on wired I don't know.
Do you have a friend with PS3 you could test the controllers on another console to see if it's something wrong inside your PS3. |

This may or may not be related as there is a repeatedly reported bug where this happens. |

I am using two different third party controllers, and when the controllers stop working, sometimes the PS button works, sometimes it doesnt. |

Odd, my DualShock 3 and Dust 514 do not get along. The menus don't work, the selection constantly slides up. Having to figure out which cheek to put my tongue gets pretty old. This build it is not nearly broken as the last two. Two builds ago I quit playing because I couldn't equip a Fit and Starter Fits just got me killed.
I also get the zoom selection problem so that is a non-controller specific bug. There are also cases where different buttons (D-pad up and left, Square, L1) activate with no input on my part. Then there is the reloading the mag six times one right after the other and since that is based on the square button there is no way that was my fat fingers doing it.
Usually this happens when the action gets really busy; as a programmer I would suspect that state control during increased activity is not multi-thread safe.

This happens a lot. It's a bug. Reboot the client. I believe it's related to latency. I experience this also during codex. |

I've read a lot of threads with people using third party controllers having issues like this.
Are you also using the Sony Wireless Surround headset? That can apparently cause some issues with certain controllers as well.
IIRC, The afterglow does not have a vibration function built in. If it gives you the option under controller settings after holding the PS button, try disabling (or enabling if it is off) vibration. That apparently works with some of the third party controllers that have issues. |

Linky-dinks:
Not saying it is same case, but looks related.
Try unplugging everything else from the PS3, while using the wired controller - see if this helps. Also, suggest to post in correct forum, and include your full hardware setup. |

the ADS problem might be a glitch, because I get the same thing on occasion, and I'm using a DS3.I thought it was just me not pushing the L1 button hard enough,or maybe my controller is having issues, but now after reading your post,I'm thinking differently.
Never had that problem with previous builds with the same controller, nor do I have a problem with other games,so now I'm thinking that it just might be a glitch. |
