1) Moving Targets are hard to hit, though it is funny looking thru the scope watching your pray jump and down like an idiot, i for one make sure i kill them....
2) Stay close to buildings and its a good idea to have a roof over your head. Most Snipers take to the hills or high platforms, cant shoot what you cant see.
3) Watch the kill logs, if you see alot of your teamates being downed by sniper fire, good idea to take cover or begin anti sniper operations (aka grab a sniper rife and scan the hills for targets, more than likely you wont scan them but you can *see* them.)
4) head shots are hard to take, most of the time you will get shot 2 times by a sniper, having decient sheilds and/or armor with reg's is a good idea. Stay close to medics, they help reduce clone wastage.
5) See a sniper friend close to you, drop an ammo nanite thingy close to them or behind them. Full mag sniper is a dangerous thing
6) never run in a straight line for long, makes it too easy for us snipers to Lead the target and fire at the right time, if you dodge right for a sec, good chance the round would hit the dirt, has happened to me many times, (holy crap that almost hit me, good thing i dodged!)
Hope these help!
May your aim be true and mags always full! |

Everything is good except second sentence of point four.
If George R. R. Martin had anything to say about Lannisters, it's that they were tricky people. (Read: devious bastards)
This "stay close to medic to reduce clone wastage" sounds like an ill disguised attempt to acquire a second kill following a revive, plus a kill on the poor medic if the sniper is fast enough. |

Let's expand on the role of the Medic; Clear the freaking area! First! A good AR will make a sniper move once their shields are stripped away. Or even starting to be stripped for that matter. Depending on the suit a Sniper is paper thin. If you are constantly having problems with adding to second kills or being killed by a sniper then run a laser rifle. You can hit them from an amazing distance and holding contact with the beam will let the damage grow. That sniper will move, or at least duck. Revive the merc, save the clone and put your laser back on the sniper as you both escape line of sight. Using the Militia Logi suit or a lvl 1 Logi suit once gives you two weapon slots, not to mention two to three equip slots.
Be safe, be alert, keep the clone count up.

Also have good scan precision and radius- you'll be able to find snipers much easier that way. |

This game allows the shoot to wound sniper problem - turning 1 target into many if a medic attempts to revive a fallen team mate |

You say that like it is a bad thing?
Also, Logi doesn't get more WP for the second revive. Which not all that many posters seem to realize. |

Good advice for the most part, except part five needs a bit of expanding: sure, drop a resupply close to a sniper, but put it out of the way unless you are trying to get them killed. A resupply is basically a glowing beacon for other snipers, and I can not count the amount of times I found a sniper due to glowy bits around them. I personally put it behind a rock outcropping or somewhere that is close, but not easily seen by others.
Also, don't try to use a ladder if you think a sniper is around. I usually just set the sights at about the mid-way point and relax until they get there. If they are close to dead, I aim more for the top of the ladder. I like it when they fall.
If you have a squad, I would suggest having a sniper, or if you're in a team, at least two. I'm pretty much a dedicated counter-sniper most of the time, otherwise I'm aiming at the ground troops, but usually I can get double digit kills on snipers alone.
Snipers are easy prey once you realize that they usually have specific area that they use. Snipers are creatures of habit. They will usually have a preferred area for themselves, and they will come back to that area again and again, because it works, and they will totally get the drop on you THIS time. I once killed a guy about five times in a row because he kept using the same rooftop to snipe, and this was within a two minute span, which means he barely had time to respawn before he was dead again. The sad part? He knew exactly where I was after the second or third death, and he still kept dying to me.
Also, neat fact: two snipers can kill each other at the same time. |

I have a cheap assault suit with a shotgun and two sensor damps or one and a cardio-whatever.
I use it to run around the outside of the map where snipers are almost always looking exclusively through their scope at targets. I have, numerous times, walked directly in front of the sniper and seen how long I can count to until they notice i'm there. Its easy because the second they move you can still shoot them.
It is a very pleasing counter-sniper operation. |

I like doing it from behind with a sniper rifle. |

A name I never saw before Sniped me earlier today. Interesting name. Tagged it.
Spawned back in a Logi and went to visit. Yep, just past our Red Line. A missile Turret was keeping its head down so I tossed two grenades over the lip. Up pops Sniper with half shields. One clip finishes the shields and manages to grab half the armor as well. Junk stock AR so I dodge as Sniper pulls back. After I reload sure enough up pops a head, shields have not recovered (mine had help) nor the armor (my rep was ticking) and down went the funny name I had never seen before.
So, thanks for the advice on chasing them into the Red. It wasn't quite the way describe to me but I couldn't get over the ridge.
Worked out just fine. If I could have skipped down that hillside I would have. |
