I'd just like to know what the difference between the two are.
Thanks! |

This is what I assume they are based on my experience.
Scan profile is a value that relates to how quickly the enemy acquires your position on their scanners. Higher means they see you on the map/screen faster.
Scan radius is, well, the value that determines how far you can acquire enemies on your own scanner. Higher means more distance.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. |

Scan profile is not the amount of time but whether or not they can see you at all on the scanner regardless of time.
Scan radius is as written above.
Additionally, scan precision is how well enemies show up on your radar within your scan radius. |

The whole profile concept is kinda odd with it's electonic signature whats-a-whoozitz and junk. I just think of it as "noise" and it's a bit easier to under stand. I'll elaborate.
Every Dropsuit, nay, EVERYTHING emits noise. From Scout suits (which are like a tack hitting the floor.) to HAV's (which are like someone playing the drums.) to the MCC.
Radius - Every suit starts off with their own basic Scan Radius which lets them detect noise easier the closer the noise gets to it. Once the noise proceeds beyond the max radius it can no longer be detected on your Radar. The larger your Scan radius is, the easier it also becomes, to detect noise that gets closer to you.
Precision - Some noisy people like to equip "noise" dampeners to make themselves quieter. This would normally be a good thing since you don't have to hear them all the time but in this case THEY ARE TRYING TO KILL YOU from behind so it's actually a plus if you can hear them. Which is why you increase your Precision.
Hopes this helps :)

Signature profile- how easily the enemy can see you can how much information about you they can see Scan profile- the counter stat to signature profile Scan radius- how close people have to be for your scanners to pick them up. It seems directional, but I've scanned an enemy heavy that was sneaking up behind me once. |

Thanks for the replies.
-5% for each level too...pretty enticing. |
