I'm wondering about gun damage. In some skills like "Weaponry" you get +2% damage per level.
So lets say that there's a gun that puts out 100 damage (hypothetically), that's 100+2=102 damage.
Now l add a 10% increase damage high powered mod.
Does the 10% add to the 102 damage making it 111.2 damage or does it just add to the base of the 100 instead of the 102?
It makes a difference in the end after getting 2% (x5) and 3% (x5) and adding modules for even more power.
Thanks for any help.

I'm 99% sure it just takes a percentage of the base damage. |

From my understanding, all those bonuses are multiplied. So you'd have the 100*1.02*1.10 |

it adds together... from my understanding.
So like my mass driver EXO-5 is 247.5 Direct damage with weaponry at 5 thats 10% add a complex damage modifier thats another 10% then add the Profiency at 5 (3%X5=15%) so that is .1 + .1 + .15 = .35 if 100% is 1 then 1.35 then we have this in the end 247.5 x 1.35 = 334.125 Direct damage |

If it's anything like eve, this is correct. |

This is how it works in EvE. But not in Dust: I tried this with shields and it's only 5% (or whatever % is used in description) of the base that's being added. |

This guy mathed correctly.

if you add 2 complex damage mods you get 1.1*1.1=1.21 on screen.
The problem in this case is there should have been a stacking penalty making it 1.1*1.0867=1.19537, rounding to 1.2 damage on screen. The shields just have the stacking bonus working right apparently, a third 5% should add less then 5% of base. The stacking makes the first 2 mods add about the same, the third less, and more not really worth it.
Skills don't have stacking penalty, so a complex mod and lv5 weaponry should give 21% bonus. Each 2% is added together, then multiplied with other bonus, weaponry lv5 is base*1.1*other bonus, not base*1.02*1.02*1.02*1.02*1.02*other bonus.
There are a lot of eve math explanations with diagrams that would explain it better. Just be glad we don't have tracking, explosion speed, falloff, and signature damage mods. Lot of crazy logs and polynomials in those equations. |

level 5 weaponry is 2% addition at level 5 should be 10% addition.... and a complex mod is 10% 10+10=20 doesn't matter if it is a percent or not.... .1+.1=.2 weapon + complex mod + weaponry (lvl5) = 1.20
i dont get where you get the 21% at... |

If you add two complex damage mods on a suit and check the damage modifier in the suit stats you will see it shows 1.21. In eve with stacking penalties it would be 1.18 something. So the penalties aren't working correctly. |

It's because they're multiplied, not added, like he says in the first line.

10% and 10% are 21%. 1.1*1.1=1.21. 10% bonus is a 1.1% multiplication, not an addition. The on screen bonus is exaclty this with no stacking penalty. So for example my av fit swarm with weaponry 5 and 3 complex damage, 1.1*1.1*1.1*1.1=146.41%, if stacking worked it would be 1.1*1.1*1.087*1.056=145.42%. In both cases it is more then adding 10%+10%+10%+10%=140% |
