EDIT: Another solution would be for players to be their own spawn bases. Players on the same team could being initially be spawned as a big group, and all following spawns could be in the largest group of friendlies that are furthest from enemies. Protection in numbers, let your team be the spawn point.
When Ambush was tried with MCCs in the game mode variation event, I thought it was pretty good. Might not be perfect, but would prevent spawning next to enemies. MCCs or some other kind of spawn bases might be an improvement to the current system. Multiple safe spawn points would be needed to prevent base camping, so not just an MCC would suffice. Each team could just have 2 (or more) spawn buildings inaccessible to the enemy, similar to how MAG did team deathmatch. Perhaps some special CRUs covered by an energy bubbles that no one can shoot in out of, and no one can reenter after exiting.
This alternative might be easier than fixing Ambush spawns considering CCP already tried to fix it. |

Ambush definitely needs base spawn points, another option may be to have one giant spawn point inaccessible by the other team with multiple exits and adequate cover to make spawn camping as difficult a prospect as possible.
With this they could have arena style battles with symmetrical maps (perhaps some corporation sponsors the battles. Always spawning in a home base would almost necessitate a different game mode, that would take place on smaller maps, probably without vehicles, but man would that be hectic. |

What about 2 spawn bases on opposite sides of the battle field? So one team is N/S and the other is E/W? That should help prevent redlining, which might become a problem if we have spawn bases in ambush. |

I see no reason why not. I find it especially frustrating when I, as a sniper, get spawned next to a cherry. Worse is when they get spawned next to me, because they pay more attention when spawning. |

so this way snipers can hide inside their bases in ambush, too? if this is ever implemented, then there needs to be a timer so you have to get out of the base in 30 seconds or die. you'd still probably die as soon as you left the spawn, though.

If there is a energy barrier like the previous poster suggested, then no one could shoot into or out of the base. Seems to be a solid idea IMHO. The way spawning is now is just a way for people to farm free kills. |

One or 2 armored vehicles overlooking one base with the rest of the team camped at the other base. I appreciate the idea of base camps i do. But where there is a will there is a way to spawn camp with dedicated spawn point, this took me 5s to come up with, im sure with time people will come up with better ones.
Also dont say thats fine we'll call in our own tank, not if im blowing the RDV outta the sky before it has a chance to deploy, of course the counter to this could be deployment garages but thats just silly. |

People will camp just outside the energy barrier, if you cant shoot out of it then there is no way for you to escape me when you do come out of the field. |

Energy bubbles as bases would work. Can't shoot in or out of one, if you leave you can't come back, if any part of you (like the tip of your gun) leaves the bubble then you will be pushed out. If people are camping outside, you can call in vehicles, or wait for other teammates to spawn to help push back the enemy. You could access a supply depot to get your super heavy fit to clear the enemies. |

How about we have random spawn points on two sides of the map, each side has a cluster. Players will still spawn scattered around but not all over the place where spawn kills will most likely happen. And if one side is overrun, the spawn clusters switch sides to further avoid spawn killing. Now the team who's spawns are being overrun is spawning in the area where their enemy started from and the vice versa.

That could work. I read this post on a thread in the general section recently about spawning players in groups of friendlies. I think that would really help also. |

I hope something is done as fast as possible. That's why I stopped playing Team Deathmatch in Battlefield 3. If Ambush wasn't one of the only two match types I probably would've stopped playing it. It's best for just a warm up match. |

I was in an Ambush lastnight and noticed that both teams spawned on opposite sides of the Map - being a long time player this took me by surprise. I was like "YES" nice....
That is until the battle started to take into effect. Suddenly I found my team doing nothing but spawn camping....personally I can't stand spawn camping. I think it's a pretty low tactic to use and ruins most games I play (it's a personal opinion - so no need to troll).
I like the idea of spawning in by your teammates for the first spawn. But I believe that all other spawns afterward should be in random areas surrounding the map - as it was before. This should prevent base spawn camping. Obviously it's something that we are holding onto pretty dearly as this topic keeps coming up. Hopefully it will eventually get resolved. |

I find the Ambush variations with spawning on opposite sides of the map extremely boring, but that could be because I only experienced them on the larger maps where lots of walking is needed to get to the action. |

Seems like regular Ambush is using the new spawn system on the edge of the maps: boring OMS ambush uses the old messed up spawning system: clusterfuck |
