Sorry for having to ask such a dufus question but my searches have found reverences to "exit battle" but I have no idea how to do it. Today I got stuck in a 1v4 match with three of them being in a corp and oddly enough in the same squad. I didn't even want to deploy but I have no idea how to exit. The mission is not worth the time to start it.

Open up the menu, click battle, and leave battle. Something like that. You open the menu with esc on a keyboard and start with the controller. |

Just tried that. Start got no response when I tried it. I tried it at several points after the first finder menu->skirmish. In battle and while waiting for a respawn and before choosing to respawn.
Maybe it got nerfed in chromosome? |

Sorry, SAO means what? I am pretty sure it does not mean Session At Once which is my only reference to it. Man, I haven't burned a cd/dvd that way in forever. |

Vyzion is slightly off but has the General Idea right. Ehem!
HOW TO: Leave Battle
1.) While in battle, press the Down Key on your Directional Pad (D-Pad). This Opens the Map.
2.) From the Map, you have access to the NEOCOM by pressing L1 on your Controller. Do this.
3.) Once your in the NEOCOM Menu, scroll to the top and highlight "BATTLE" then press X.
4.) After Completely Step 3, You will see new options pop up in an alternate tab. One of which is "LEAVE BATTLE".
5.) Highlight "LEAVE BATTLE" and then press X and your Mercenary will be transported back to their Merc. Quarters.
6.) Have a nice day.

It was exactly like you said. I thought manuals might explain such things.
Anyway, I didn't wind up in a battle that I had to exit but it is nice to know the option is there. |

Your very welcome Thranx, i find it's the small details that make all the difference. Also!
I could be wrong but i think Jack Boost may be referencing the light novel/anime Sword Art Online, where in the main character is trapped inside a video game with 10K other players with no way to Log Out of the game and if a player dies he dies in real life as well. Sword Art Online is commonly abbreviated as SAO.
