Hello everyone, if I'm not mistaken the ambush spawn mechanics have changed alot. It seems like the game is actively placing you near your team members which is much better than before.
How have your experience been? |

It's been improved but definitely not fixed. I still get spawn killed by a group of 5 assault rifle wielding crack heads. |

Spawns are not even remotely fixed!!!! Got to love spawning between 7 dudes over and over again. |

Fixed? No.
Changed? Yes.
Improved? Most of the time.
It spawns you near teammates, but that isn't always a benefit. If your team is mostly sticking together, and you all get wiped out apart from one guy, you'll all keep getting spawned in front of whatever just wiped you out, which means you're being actively cheated out of having a chance. |

In some matches it just spawns you in the same, camped spot 4-5 times in a row. Sometimes you're next to your team, sometimes you just keep on dying before you can even move (yes, I try to run as soon as the timer is at 0:01). |

I've found that 'Hovering' over the area you wish to be deployed, i.e move the cursor to your team mates before deploying helps. But definately not always. Seriously need to change the spawns at the beginning so they stack the teams at different ends of the map. |

Hell, I have had the displeasure of spawning in between the entire team of OPFOR countless times since the release of Chromosome. I would much rather have the issues from the E3 build or Codex.
Needless to say, during Ambush the spawning mechanics SUCK!
EDIT:
Also there seems to be a rampant occurrence of when I choose a spawn point, whether it be an objective, CRU, or an Uplink, I can spawn on it or up to 150 meters from the chosen location. WTF. Is this really how the spawning supposed to work?
CCP, please take to time to REALLY look at your code for the spawning. I love a lot of things about DUST, the fact that you can loose your fits and such, WONDERFUL. But if I have to deal with the fact of loss due to choices on the battlefield, should I be subjected to loss due to poor coding and in house QA?
I would like to know how much in house testing occurs. Currently with the state of just spawn mechanics I have to say close to NONE. And this doesn't even take in to consideration the completely sporadic hit detection, fluctuating size of a model's hit box or the completely crap translation of damage to your opponent in a timely manner. This was specifically apparent when I shot an Assault at 5m with the Militia Forge Gun (1200 base damage with 2.5m radius on 210 splash damage) and they took only about 30 points in damage and he proceeded to **** me. Now The issue is not the dying. The issue is if I dropped a FG round at the distance at the person's feet, we should both be dead, and from MY FG blast, NOT their AR.
This build may look sharper, and move smoother, AT TIMES, but your in house game testers CCP need to come out and play with us big boys, because they obviously don't have their crap together on this one. And the thing is this is the third build released with the caveat that it was better, smoother, and more tuned up.

Usually I don't have issues with default spawn mechanics. Most of the time it spawns me somewhere near friendlys.
Completele different issue is if one uses drop uplink spawning, there you can spawn in midle of enemys if they are camping the uplink. |

It is not an issue of spawn camping. The spawn mechanics are broken in relation to the general location of where one is attempting to spawn at in relation to the actual geographic location you do spawn at. The default spawn mechanics for ambush are complete garbage. The tighter maps for ambush; SHITE. There is absolutely NO reason to come into a tight map ambush with anything but BPO militia gear. It is TOO expensive and TOO FRUSTRATING. Couple this with a continuing complete breakdown in communication between other players outside of corp and you have a complete SNAFU / FUBAR match.

Spawns need to be more random, iv already memorised the spawn locations on the new ambush maps, I know when game comes to launch it wont matter cause there will be thousands of worlds with different spawns. Cant they just have something to stop us spawning in area's where enemys are near? I think battlefield has something like this, enemy spawns on 1 side of map, as soon as opposing team moves near they're spawn it switchs to another part of the map. |
