Maybe 3 seconds is too long? How about 2? Or just set it to when you fire the shield breaks, but not for movement.
Right...it is my fault for spawning there and I understand that...but the way they set up the spawn locations around the CRU, you would at least have some protection.
It the spawn shield idea doesn't work, maybe set the location further away? |

I'd rather have less predictable spawns than spawn protection.
The problem with spawn protection that breaks when you fire is it allows the person spawning to dictate when the fight starts. Yeah a couple secs is pretty short, but imagine a shotgun user spawning, charging you, and is invincible up til the point he fires, which oneshots you. You can't do anything back because he was invincible for the couple secs that happened in. I know if I spawned in and was surrounded and invincible for a short duration, I'd start hurling grenades everywhere. Not fair to be spawncamped, but not fair to be killed just because someone spawned on you either. |

Don't spawn on camped CRUs. I don't know if you guy shave noticed, but the map is real-time now and only the red dots are dependent on line of sight, at max zoom every enemy player shows up as a little glittering spec. If you see those around the CRU, don't spawn there. Its that simple. |

If there is a form of spawn protection, it should only allow the screen to load fully but any movement would break protection. I would allow turning.
So using the above example of a shotgunner, they would not be able to close in to kill before protection dropping as moving would have broken it. |

Anything that gives the player a choice where to spawn should NOT have any period of invulnerability. Like CRU's, drop-uplinks, and objective points. The only time we should have a brief period of invulnerability is from a random spawns in Ambush, since we are have no control whatsoever where we spawn (if using the default).
The main reason for this is that a player makes a choice to spawn on a CRU, drop-uplink or objective point. And if their team is unable to hold that or at least show the danger by getting eyes on the enemies nearby, then you just have to deal with your choice of spawning there. |
