I am not sure why we do not have full grouping support yet. This build is great and all but I am still feeling the game in general is really lacking some basic needs to properly test it. I feel that if you, CCP, want your game to succeed and be properly tested then you must make these a top priority. I'd really like an honest answer from CCP. No beating around the bush, no cryptic "SOON" trademark, none of that. What is it CCP that is making you hold yourselves and your game back?
Sincerely,
A Dust Beta Tester |

So the game cant be properly tested until you can roll a corp deep in pubs vs randoms? .. lol. |

play corp matches teamstacking randoms/newbies etc in pub games is a no no. sure fire way to turn ppl off the game and a sure fire way to kill lowsec/FW in DUST since the majority of corps will just play it safe and teamstack in hisec instead of moving to lowsec
if u want a full team then play against another full team aka corp battles.
PS: search button. Fivetimes Infinity and myself already posted why this shouldnt be allowed in hisec on the last thread that was posted up like this |

Nobody corpbattles though. CCP should just create a mercenary Q in the same vain as COD for the people that don't have others to play with. |

Back to the pubbie excuse again
The game is already a usual redline fest or boring matches between randoms...
Like Protoman said. Just make a merc queue for people who dont want to play against teams.
There is no argument against that idea that holds up. So come on, lets get these going.
PS: as I have said before, corp battles are honestly no fun, nobody wants to play them, and just a pain for scehduling reasons, as well as the fact they dont award SP and only have 8 v 8.
Make a merc solo only queue, and open it up to pubstacking teams. If noobs play the pub games versus corps, that is their fault. And presto! A abuse free method of matching teams versus teams without getting rid of SP or 16 players from the battle.
If anyone can come up with a good argument against this, go ahead, but every one I have seen so far is shallow and doesnt hold up. |

seperating the playerbase for a game that may not have a large following is a bad idea and CCP should be encouraging ppl to corp battle not pubstomp tbqh

try corp battles honestly sad when i see ppl wanting to zerg randoms in pubs. MAG mentality gotta die sometime tbh.
the arguments have been good YOU just dont want to hear it. YOU are already dead set on how dust MUST have zerg deploy in pubs
PS: No one wants to do corp battles because alot of ppl are afraid to take an L or lose some virtual cash or ePride. Ive taken 5 Ls already on this game in 24 corp battles 3 was to IMP in the tourney we still battle its just a game. You want that FULL team v team experience the way the game should be played? then corp battles it is NOT pubs vs randoms. |

The final product of Dust 514 will include 16, 24, or even 32+ fully grouped up players on one team. That is a given based on the size of the maps, the amount of objectives to capture, as well as the fact that you will either be fighting for Null Sec assets (When they release that) or just plain fighting in Faction War (Which is coming much sooner).
Right now as far as I know these public matches are still Faction War matches. So they are Low Sec I believe. I don't have an active EVE Online account at the moment so I cannot fully check that but I believe it to be true. If someone is willing to check that for me I'd be grateful. This means they are not High Sec games if what I say holds up so you cannot really argue that you can't have full grouping by Security status alone. When we get to fight versus Rogue Drones we should be able to fully group up against them as well. I'd imagine most of that content is High Sec too. Not very Player versus Player but the point still stands.
Also I seem to recall CCP stating that we are greatly affecting Faction War even though we may not be able to see it. This may have changed with the new SiSi logging.
8 vs 8 is for Call of Duty Team Death Match. I understand CCP wanted to implement something for the organized groups but the current build should be able to allow for a much greater flexibility with numbers. This means the current cap on Corp battles is a bit archaic. I think they should at the least increase it to current public match levels.
The time just feels right to give us more flexibility and see what comes of it. That is all I am saying. |

Last night was a rare occasion where we a SyN and Red Star team and a couple of other organised corps in the same match vs randoms. Within the first 2 minutes of the game we redlined the randoms. The red line was so bad that we were at the line killing the randoms. This was the state the entire match. Zzzzzzzzz.
There are numerous ways to do this and there are many threads for this. Randoms should have their own little Shire. Mordor is for the hardcore. |

Some good arguments on both sides.
Yes, redlining is extremely frustrating and boring no matter what side you are on.
But limiting tactics to four man squads also leaves out half the game. One thing that I personally feel is the lack of a transport mission for my dropship. Ok, so you nerfed its ability to play gunship. I'm fine with that, but give me some mission! Without the ability to coordinate seven players I can't fill my ship for an attack on an objective, and randoms will never get coordinated to the degree necessary.
The tendency seems to be toward smaller maps and more tightly grouped objectives so the loose trickle form of attack works just fine. There is no need to coordinate in this game. It is being balanced as "Mercenary TDM", and that's boring too.
CCP can retain balance by not dropping all the corp squads on one side. Have eight of one corp on one side? Have them wait for another group of eight from another corp to join. Make a separate queue for those larger teams if you must, but don't limit them to 8 vs 8 like corp battles are now or most tactics become useless. |

Another possibility is a queue with manditory mics and manditory team chat. If you do allow squad chat you make the squad leaders listen to the team channel and maybe only then if the squad came preassebled rather than constructed of randoms.
That might remove some of the Rambo TDM from the game and begin to introduce some interesting strategy and tactics. DUST needs something like this and it's about time to begin testing and balancing for it. |

I'm sure once matches are segregated into High/Low/Null sec, you'll see the option to run into a pub match with a stacked team in low or null sec. High sec should give pubsters the comfort of knowing they wont run into a stacked team of opponents, while in low sec you'll run the risk of that, but in the hopes of a greater reward. |

At this stage in the game, grouping needs to be uncapped. There are plenty of corporations that will take players into their ranks. Back in the old R2 days we used to run 20+ person CTF lobbies. Chances are we played against another capable clan. It still remains the best representation of large scale battles on the PS3 (that were actually fun and competitive)
If people don't want to play in a group there needs to be a mercenary playlist where teams are randomized. There's no reason as to why pub matches/ "random encounters" shouldn't be as competitive as the LOL 8v8 corporation battles. |

Fine. Guilty as charged. I want to play in public matches with full teams... but not against randoms, against other full teams. Jumps solution is great.
Splitting the playerbase? Your "solution" is to go play corp battles in low sec... Isn't that a seperation?
Maybe I am greedy. But if I have to grind high sec solo or with only 3 other corp mates, I just won't play DUST much, and eventually my corp won't either.
In a F2P console MMO, the playerbase will almost definetly e large enough to support a mercenary queue. Heck, it alreay is able to.
CCP needs to find a way to allow me to gain SP free from abuse or exploits. Hence, random matchmaking. But DUST is a large scale MMOFPS, or at least will be; how is limiting the place where I can play with them to low or null sec right?
If null sec battles happen continuously, then when will I have time to grind for SP and ever unlock new stuff or become a better merc?
I will keep saying it until you are all sick of it and hate me: there NEEDS to be a place for corps to play together and earn SP at the same time.
I agree completely: farmig randoms is no fun. But battling random corps is.
Corporations are the center of New Eden, and we must remember that. Limiting them to make it easier or nicer for high sec is the epitome of carebear mentality. |

1. the chances of u actually playing another full team is slim. Sure u might meet grps of random corps put on the other team but that doesnt make them a team or make them coordinated, they are basically randoms to each other and most times wont coordinate. Whereas u know u can full ur side pretty easily most times so ur side will always be coordinated so explain how is that any different than zergin randoms?
2. LOL u srsly think the playerbase can support a Merc Q now? ok then. Also lets get this straight just because the game is free dont mean ppl will play it , it actually has to be a good game for ppl to spend time on it keep that in mind.
anyway this really not goin anywhere lets 1st see CCPs plans for FW and Nullsec before wanting to farm randies in hisec pubs. Currently we dont know what CCP has planned for full FW integration so lets wait. |

Pretty much this. The game needs the ability to link squads or a clan deploy system. Let the non clan guys just go to the mercenary q and pub it up. We should have the ability to squad with all of our friends. Not just 3 of them |

Perhaps the number a thaty can squad up pre-battle will vary with security. So, 4 in high sec to protect the noobs from ridiculous overkill. More in low sec. No limit but player count in null sec.
Corp battles in any sec should be up to player cap and player cap should be agreed to by the corps. So if the 2 involved corps wanted 13vs13 they could do it. |
