Since you guys are doubling up on modules and since the vehicles have one can infantry get a cpu/pg module that combines them both??
I can understand separate passive skills but a combo module makes sense. We don't have a huge number of high slots to put both of them in if you need to. Make it an aurum only item...I don't care but there should be a combo cpu/pg module |

While i understand your frustration. I think a combined PG/CPU module if made should be vehicle only. But definitely not AUR only because that would be pay to win.
The thing is PG mod have a inherent CPU drain so it takes CPU away while adding PG. Now thats the point of the adv/proto vehicles cause they should accomodate the extra PG/CPU you need. If you could get more PG/CPU out of militia tanks then you could stack them with type V mods and get a very nice tank at a very cheap price. |

A definate NO to PG+CPU combo module as it would be such a 'win' module.

I dont agree with it as well. That's the beauty of Dust514, you are forced to make the hard choices of what modules and setup you place on your dropsuits. If everyone can fit all the proto gear in one suit then you are basically throwing away the diversity of this game and everyone will be rolling out with the same modules and equipment in games. |

Yeah not a fan of this, just like EVE you need to keep them separate being able to have an item that pumps both CPU and Grid as one item would simply be broken. CPU enhancers take grid and Grid enhancers take CPU that balances things out, what pray tell would such a module have to balance it? Apples should stay apples and oranges stay oranges they may compliment each other but can never truly be combined into one. |

I would rather have a PG/CPU modules to go in a high slot instead of low. Gallente vehicles are at a big disadvantage because just about everything useful for them go into low slots- including these modules |

All armour vehicles suffer this problem, not just LAVs. An armour HAV has to fit tank, gank and fitting mods in low slots. Shield tanks have so many options because of this. Full tank in highs, gank and fitting or speed in lows. We'll likely see this problem exist until electronic warfare arrives.
That said, I don't want to see a merged PG/CPU mod. |

Adding a cpu/pg module just makes sense. What's the point in using a cpu module if you don't have enough pg? Then you get a pg mod but you don't have enough cpu. You only get 2 low slots unless it's a proto but you won't need one in a proto suit. |

I think the separate PG and CPU modules are working as intended.
That said, I wouldn't object to some dual-function PG/CPU modules which provide a smaller boost to both sides. Basically, to get a boost to both stats with only one module filling only one slot, you shouldn't be able to get as much of a boost as you'd get from fitting two modules and using one to increase each. And it should be a significant enough reduction in effectiveness that it's usually going to be more practical to go with the two module approach. |

A good reason to update to Prototype then. There are already numerous ways of reducing CPU usage as well as the electronics and power grid skills.

I could see something like this working if it only did about 40% of what an equal tiered module would.
What I'm actually more concerned with though is that a CPU upgrade costs you nothing while a PG upgrade costs you CPU - if anything it should be the other way around. When I upgrade my CPU it will most likely use more power, but when I upgrade my power supply I don't need to upgrade my CPU in order for it to work(in fact I may be able to overclock the CPU if the power supply wasn't high enough). |

What is the fault in having this module? I haven't read a reason just "no".
And am I supposed to run proto every game? |

You don't have to die when you are using proto(or when you die, someone cane pick you up). In eve, we have special slots for this kind of things - rigs: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Rigs

I don't think the PG/CPU should be prototype only for vehicles, it should be in between so that there is a bit of a balance. However I do agree that if CCP does come up with combining PG/CPU modules, it should be restricted to vehicles only.
Then again though, I think if you combined both a PG/CPU mod together on a vehicle, logically they would both void each other out. A PG boost takes away CPU, while a CPU boost takes away PG, so it might be a case of choose one or the other, not both.
Also be careful what you wish for, CCP will take adjustments to the extreme at times. |

No, there's already options.
People can upgrade their support skills, just because they aren't as sexy as direct increased damage, it doesn't mean they shouldn't be invested in. People can also reduce the meta level of equipment first and then modules second. Proto weapon is likely the problem if your needing both extra PG/CPU, or for new players really weak support skills.
Why have a module that makes fittings so easy that players can basically ignore a whole line of skills? |

It doesn't have to be easy......you would still want to level your passive skills. And it doesn't have to be the module that saves all. Maybe it can increase cpu&pg by a moderate amount as opposed to how much an independent cpu or pg module would |

I agree this is way to easy
This module promotes lazyness and in general is for idiots who want it all
Current options are as follows
1. PG module - More powergrid but at a CPU cost 2. PDU - Slightly more PG but less than a PG mod but also helps with shield and shield rep (vehicle only) 3. CPU mod - Costs 0 PG/CPU and give a big increase to CPU 4. Better suit - More PG/CPU and slots but more pricy
Also get the skills up for PG and CPU and max that out to lvl5 but also ther is various skills for the weapons and mods which will decrease the amount of CPU and PG for said mods and weapons, normally to try and fit the best of everything you need perfect support skills for everything modules and weapons all at lvl5 but even then you cant put on everything you want
As it is this promotes choices, do i go for more tank but use a lesser weapon or do i forgo tank for more gank with a high tier weapon? do i add some movement mods so im faster and can escape or reppers so i can hide and return with tank intact?
Instead of well i have enough PG/CPU to put on the best of everything so i can have tank and gank and im untouchable
Also if this was allowed in DUST which i dont think it will be then EVE will want it but that will defo knock alot out of balance and ppl will be able to have super tanks with better weapons in general
If you want PG/CPU either get a PG/CPU mod, use lower tier items, upgrade support skills, get a better suit |
