I know there are other threads out there about hard freezing , but i've noticed something that I've managed to replicate.
From the start of a new game... This I can replicate
These freezes are from exiting a game and when I get back in to my quarters.
If I choose to leave a game approximately half way through, it freezes my machine,
if CCP disconnects for backup purposes (mid game) it will also freeze my machine.
Previous build freezes would happen in game and this has not happened in this build.
I don't know if this would make a difference but this machine is an original PS3 from around 2008/9 and a good few years old so I cannot vouch for new models and design. So just in case older models are affected by programming i thought to mention it.
Also I do not want to do this to many time to my machine to keep testing for a hard freeze, I hope you understand :)

Bump,
FYI CCP, Just a note to CCP that this build is defiantly causing the machines to freeze when you force disconnection for you backup.
Previously I wrote
Replications 3, and 1 unintentional by CCP 25 mins ago :)
Now 5 as 2 of these now represent the shutdown.

Be careful the hard freezes have caused a corruption error on my hard drive and nothing I do will get rid of it. I have formatted my hard drive several times.
Now I will be buying a new hard drive. Hope this gets fixed |

Thanks for letting me know, sorry about your machine. Fingers X'd this doesn't happen as i simply couldn't afford a new one !

It may be on older machines, i haven't had any problems with hard freezes this build, thankfully. A couple of corp mates have though and i know one of them has an older PS3. So it may be limited to the older ones. as i have the newest slim that has the sliding game lid. Also, someone has said that it could be how many in game chat channels you are in. so maybe if you delete some of the chat channels then it could fix your problem. |

Heavenly Daughter already stated on other hard-freeze thread that she has only 3 chat channels, so that isn't an issue here. Also, HowDidThatTaste stated that his PS3 is only one year old, so age isn't an issue, too.
As stupid as leaving (excess?) chat channels is, it indeed helped me, but there is definitely something more sinister going on. When people get corruptel data and formatting HDD makes no difference, there is a big problem. |
