What's everyone's thought on this, heavies and being able to ride an LAV. Yea its nice to get them moving around quicker but why not dropships only(when they are actually useable again).
Or At the least what about heavies calling in their own LAVs as personal movers.
Should Heavies get to ride around in LAV, if so you think their extra weight should factor into the LAV"s mobility? |

why shouldent we? its a military combat light assult vehical, of course theres space for us. If we dont get lavs then we dont get anywere. I dont think the realisim has to stretch that far ethire, its just a transport. If people dont like murder taxi then put on AV's everyone can do it. Trust me, heavys dont need any more nerfing. Theyres plenty of drawbacks |

They should be able to ride around in a LAV, just add an animation in for getting in and out of a LAV.
Maybe even a 35% chance of a heavy getting stuck in the seat. |

Not sure if this correct but when I drive with three fatties in the old street sweeper it seems to have more mass and stability.
Nothing more brutal than three heavies jumping out squirting metal. |

Even IF this was a good idea good luck finding somebody thats gonna call in a dropship just to give the fat boy a ride. Heavys use the death taxi because its the only way to get around on the larger maps without getting mercked.
Sleepys idea aint bad though...especially the part about getting stuck in the seat |

I think if being able to shoot your weapon after getting out of the lav had the same delay it would take for you to load that gun this issue would get resolved. that way a heavy would be able to get from place to place quickly and be able to get in the game fast enough to be part of the fight, but not just being able to suddenly appear and start unloading on folks before they can react. |

I use this tactic and I must say I am shocked at how many times someone is more focus on shooting the LAV instead of looking for the beast who just jumped out.
I personally learned this lesson once, and now carry AV nades and laugh my a** off every time I blow up a jeep anywhere close to me, problem solved.
Matter of fact there are a few players I know not to murder taxi cause they always carry AV nades. Lesson learned that's when the old street sweeper does a sliding turn in an oh S##t moment and trys to get away from said players.
Instead of trying to nerf this why not use the tools given to you.
I mean hell they already gave them a sissy sounding purr to let you know they are coming what happened to the growl of the engine from builds past. |

i also use this tactic and yeah, more often than not, after jumping out they are almost always watching the LAV rather than me. |

Wow, really... you don't think the wanna-be juggernaut fat suit shouldn't effect the car? All that extra weight, I mean shouldn't it need a stronger chassis. Can we do this Mythbusters style, lets get 3 Fat people in a car and compare it to 3 skinnies and see what happens.
But seriously, it is not the fat guy in the little miata.... it is the cannonball effect they sometimes enjoy that throws everything off.
Since we can't carry Frag grenades for killing you once you get out of the vehicle, if it is close to exploding, yes I will try to finish off the vehicle if you are anywhere near it as it is likely to cause more damage than my last AV grenade, and might make it a fair fight when my AR clip runs out and my smg is taking its sweet time to swap to.
There is also that network lag during said cannonballing where you and the vehicle are still 1 blob. Also by blowing up the vehicle I hopefully make it easier for the smurfs on my side to maybe finish you off instead of allowing you to hop into a vehicle and run away. |

You ever had 3 fatties in the back seat and then bottomed out?
I think it would be kinda cool for LAV speed to decrease slightly while carrying heavies with more mass, im sure we weigh just as much as the armor plates with our fat suits.
But tbh i would rather CCP not mess with it as it not being a priority, and the possibility o something getting messed up. |

No because im not a pimp for fat ppl and have to drive them around
But also this is the future so we should have better suspension tbh anyways but it doesnt really matter since AV nades and blow it up before it reaches you and too much realism like this will prob bollocks something up |

LAV's very purpose is to haul ppl around, especially heavies. So no changes into that.
However, instant embarking/disembarking is a poor mechanic and slightly off balance. Especially when low shield/armor just single click and you blink 2m away from where you were, and also be well protected.
Perhaps 1s delay? For at least embarking? |

Nothing i think fatties need love too! No i just think it makes it too easy for them to get around when they can call in their own LAV, im not against it if they are getting a ride, but you would think their mass would slow down the vehicle, it's like when Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince bought a Miata. Really how can they really get in and out of the drivers seat without getting stuck. |

No i just don't want you getting the benefit of driving your own LAV to bypass your limited mobility. I want you to have to rely on your teammates to do it for you. It's seems like an insignificant thing but being able to drive yourself around makes it far too easy to get around. Having to actually rely on someone else for the ride at least gives a bit more balance. |

wow. Have you ever played a heavy? We spend half our time taking a slow stroll to battles and the other half reloading. We already need other players to repair our slow armor.
What other suit needs a driver and a logi to be effective? Just a silly idea.
The heavy suit has plenty enough gimps don't take my ride too! |

No kidding! The terrain is already such a hindrance to heavies. They get stuck on everything. They cannot jump over obstacles. They cannot walk through small gaps, but are forced to walk around. They have the lowest stamina and stamina recovery to match their lowest movement speed.
You act like mobility is all about the long distance trek. Go play heavy and find out there's more to mobility than traveling long distances. There are so many places where the other suits can easily access that Heavies have difficulty traversing. If a heavy in a LAV rolls up and wastes you in a drive-by, your positioning was bad. Get killed, learn from it, get better. |
