Don't get me started on Jack Thompson. You should've read what he wrote about "The Sims". |

Adam Sessler has a great video up on revision 3/youtube about how so far (until the NRA chimed in) Jack is the only person to play this like columbine was played.
It just pisses me off, the whole conference. He talked about putting people with mental health issues on a national register. That puts people with depression, anxiety, you name it in the crosshairs of law enforcement. This in a country that has one of the largest per capita prison population already. America is in bad shape, lets start cataloging our citizens so that we may latter discriminate against them.
Oh, and lets blame entertainment, since parenting really doesn't matter |

I was amused at the protesters who attended the gun buy back held somewhere in LA, "Patriots don't hand in their guns" or some such, IMO a patriot wouldn't fear his country is about to become tyrannical and feel the need to bare arms with a view towards fighting it.
one of the many amusing commentors on stories related to it:
Quote: Bella Lynn Stannard -+ Works at Drummer History proves when the Government takes your guns it creates Genocide...Funny huh they took the guns from the British and their gun crime rate doubled.... YOUR ALL TRAITORS AGAINST OUR BILL OF RIGHTS IDIOTS! GUNS TO PROTECT OURSELVES AGAINST POSSIBLE TYRANNY! Leave our country!!! |

Not all people own guns for fear of there country, I live in a rural area where people have guns for hunting. But guns that aren't meant for hunting should not be legal IMO. |

I wouldn't mind owning a firearm myself, but i live in Australia and ownership laws are pretty tight here, what i do believe is people don't need assault weapons, or anything that can spray bullets.
Doubt gun laws in the US will ever get changed into something sensible who ever tries will get shot... ironic.
One highly amusing suggestion I've heard is arming teachers, or letting students carry firearms at school, could you imagine the massacres from people shooting each other thinking whoever has the gun out is the original shooter. |

That had to be the dumbest idea I have ever heard. Imagine if one of the teachers went postal. That teacher would have direct aim at the students that are just sitting there waiting to get shot.
And don't get me started on the idea of bring armed security into schools. Back when 9/11 hit the US, my school had a whole company of UNarmed security personnel (they were far different from our standard school security) randomly checking classrooms while interrupting our class. Then it later became apparent that the new security personnel were abusing their privileges as one of them was overheard taking a muffin from a student claiming it was contraband and then eating it on their own free time. This was something that was brought up by our traditional school security or teachers that were there.
And that's just with unarmed guards. Imagine if they had guns. I can't fathom how abusive they would turn out to be when students are raised to not question a man with a gun. |

Yeah, this spokesperson is terribly misguided. We aren't fantasizing about killing people, that would be sick! What we are really doing is killing people for real! But in cyberspace! |

Well, way back when Communism was still a threat to the US, kids would take their guns they got for Christmas to school to show em off to the other kids; back then, the crime rate was so low that school shootings were literally unheard of and there was a large lack of violence that you see today.
I blame the 1970s, the hippy movement, and bad parenting. |
