DUST Fiend Immobile Infantry 1899	Posted - 2012.12.21 06:56:00 - [1] - Quote I personally have never played a game where I can call in a vehicle (though I'm sure they're out there), never mind a vehicle that I myself payed for. And that's just where the fun begins. From the moment I decide to call in a vehicle, I become exceptionally cautious. I double, even triple check where I'm going to call it in, doing my best to check for pursuers as I move to my LZ. I need to look for enough cover to hide from snipers / prying eyes, but not so much cover that the RDV crashes upon arrival. That whole, 30 second process, is one of the most intense feelings I've ever felt, even though it's so routine. There is so much money (for me) on the line with those vehicles. I could get sniped. I could get ambushed. My vehicle could be destroyed before it even lands. The worst feeling though, that I have ever felt.... Calling in an expensive dropship for the first time. Somehow I ended up under the dropship, and it proceeded to crush me. My heart sank as I waited to respawn, only to see my dropship flying through the sky, raining hell on my allies. That my friends, is DUST 514 TL;DR: Calling in vehicles is serious business. Share an experience in DUST that defines it in your mind, something about the game that's kept you here, hammering through the bugs and griefing.

Not sure what order it was in, but 1 got shot down by an HAV's blaster, while the other landed intact, but on its side so nobody could get in it. It's terrible that someone attemtping to get a team un-redlined would be stopped by something like a bad deploy.

This is DUST I have a friend for his humility sake will not be named, who threw his headset into the wall broke it.. then proceeded to throw it into the road, was funny to listen to.....

Standard occurence, right? Just when my squad was about to move on the next objective Santa's RDV decided to visit our objective a little early and drop off a properly fit Sagaris, courtesy of that squad that was just wiped up 15 seconds ago. Nothing better than a free tank....well, almost nothing.

After I cleared my tears from laughing so hard, I teared up again thinking what the guy that crushed face looked like trying to figure out what happened. A few days later, same thing happened, I laughed but not as hard this time. Then a week later same thing, I just smiled and shook my head. I figure if their battle awareness stays the same way throughout the life of DUST, going to be alot of easy kills to be had.
Garrett Blacknova Codex Troopers 1849	Posted - 2012.12.21 16:04:00 - [16] - Quote Came up behind an enemy as he was pulling a grenade, shot him in the back of the head with a Shotgun, started laughing, then went flying in a beautiful arc across the map. Landed right next to a Logi who seemed to be having trouble deciding which fragment of my body to stick the injector into. Ended up bleeding out the long way while they circled around hunting for that "sweet spot" to get me back up. Moral of the story: When the other guy is about to throw a grenade, check that he didn't drop it. THIS IS DUST 514.

We almost made it through the whole match with that guy's ship, and I'm pretty sure we even killed him with it a couple times.

It bounced just the tiniest bit, and killed me >_<

In a game with a buddy, I decide to give it a whack, and call one in. By the time it lands, like eight of the other team are charging towards us, so we jump in, and my boy starts yelling "L1! L1!!" Me: "Dude, I'm not in the driver's seat, you are." Him: "****!" and we take off. He says he'll switch up with me so I can actually try the piloting out, and looks for a spot to land, and basically immediately crashes into the ground, hard, and we blow up and die. He must've just leaned on [L2], or maybe there was lag. I don't think the ship had taken very much damage from the red dots, just him throttling straight down, and the entire episode lasted maybe twenty seconds. Good times, good times.
