I remember that pre E3 the game was really bright and colorful. It had a really unique look and style that I think really made its gameplay stand out and look unique. Not it's just as grey as every other shooter on the market. What gives? |

I agree, it is very dull now. I feel that this kinda applies to the over all motif of barren waste lands that we are raping of its resources and constantly destroying and remaking the battlefield again.
So I kinda get why just it was weird at first, but I like it now. |

There is no color in New Eden. It's a cold, dark, harsh world. We grief color for fun. |

Their is too many dark maps, especially the snow maps, I have found around one snow map that was bright and It was beautiful, but when It's dark I can hardly even tell It's snow. Kinda frustrating. |

I don't mind the dark maps but I'd think our expensive suits would have some sort of vision enhancement.

Go to Manus Peak then make your way up the mountain next to B, enjoy the view, also the huge mountain acts as a giant slide |

I think it has to do with CCP trying to resolve the issue of the black silhouettes that we had during codex. |

I loved the sandy ground texture and pinkish sky lighting of the E3 build. |

What I'm wondering is, what happened to the graphics? I like the graphics now. But that trailer shown at Sony E3 2011 was much better. And if you go even farther back to 2009. That looked amazing, what happened to that?

Funny how no one remembers the 2008 teaser....
One would have to remember that most of the trailer footage is actually PC footage, since you don't want pop-up and all in there ^^ |

For those who are missing out. I am also desperately needing to know what happened to DUST to actually set it back instead of progress - if that indeed is what's happening. |

Switching engines shouldn't change artwork in any significant way, since that's created externally (3ds Max, Photoshop, etc) and loaded into the engine as models or textures. Even dynamically created terrain via coding would have the same logic, just different engine calls to do the work.
They clearly are de-saturating the colors to make it more gritty. Personally, I like more greens and such also. Happy green grass makes me want to defend the place, or conquer it, even more. Nobody wants some barren rock. |
