I think Dust will have more to offer than planetside 2. Its kool to have thousands of players on the screen, but if it's boring it don't matter if your computer run at 1 fps and you going against multiple guys who computer run at 100 fps. I think 48 players is good for now, I'm guessing when Dust is ported over to PS4, it will be over 200 players. I can't wait when they add weapon customization to Dust. That's going to be a huge bonus. I want dropsuit/vehicle customization also, to be honest. The reason I think it has more to offer then any si fi shooter. First, it is connected with another game. Two, Dust has a huge economy in this game. Three, different game modes such as arena mode and drones (I heard you can bet isk in arena mode, thats awesome). Four, variety of different looking weapons (lasers/forge/swarm launchers/assualt rifles/sub machine guns/pistols) . Five, thousands of different planets (Don't worry, I heard planets with grass and trees are coming too). The Si Fi look of this game is incredible, lol I don't know if it's my 1080p TV and people TV run at 480p/standard, but the graphics in Dust seem to constantly get better. So, not only can you take over planets with your corp or faction with eve players. You can do other things like arena mode and drones etc. I heard you will be able to invite people to your merc quarters and customize your merc quarters (you know I will invite all the sexy ladies lol jk). I heard it will be training facilities and a lot of other things that I don't even know about is coming to this game. This game seem to be much deeper than a game like halo, call of duty, and even planetside 2. |

Yup both a mmo with factions. Dust has 5 factions and planetside only has 3. Plus it's thousands of corporations that can be made and joined in Dust. They both got mmo gameplay when it comes to skills and getting better at guns vehicles or knives. |

honestly, i was in planetside 2 beta. And i didnt like it that much. I was glad to see a lot of people and some kind of massive FPS open world. But it didnt give me the extra thrill i was expecting. Also, the persistence in it is kinda disappointing and i seriously hope dust will make it much better.
In fact, that's the ONE thing i think we should trust CCP fully. If they fail that part with all the EVE experience, they deserve to be spanked to death.
Anyway, PS2 or Dust or Halo. this is all about one's taste. |

Planetside 2 is not a true representation of what the original Planetside stood for. PS 2 is just another generic FPS but with bigger battles. Planetside one was amasing an probably the best MMOFPS ever.
To compare DUST with Planetside 2 with regards to completion is wrong they are at different stages of production. |

no.
Entropia beats 514 and planetside tied together. Entropia actually IS a sci-fi mmo rpg shooter. which is what 514 is supposed to be. but is not. it's just a FPS. it hasn't reached it's final status PFPS persistant first person shooter, yet.
if you're good at entropia, you're good at gaming, period.
and Star Citizen should be able to kick EVERY game square in the nuts. probably be 2014 before it's out, but i'd say comparing 514 in actuality vs the description of SC, SC wins.

Okay in 200k plus years in the future. I would fully expect that humanity solved the problem of recoil. I would also expect the humanity stopped using iron sights at least 500 years from now, not to be still using them 200k years in the future! I mean really?!?! We are immortal using iron sights and have recoil. Humanity has failed! |

And you know how the ballpoint pen was invented? America spent MILLIONS OF DOLLARS and YEARS of research developing a pen that would work without needing gravity to draw the ink onto the page.
Meanwhile, in Russia, they gave their cosmonauts pencils.
Sometimes, the high-tech option isn't really necessary. |

First of all, its only about 20,000 years....second, between ~7000-8000AD and around ~21000AD all of the civilizations in the New Eden cluster were in the dark ages. |

Planetside 1 was a terrible game. I played it from its beta until a few years after release. Even before BFRs it was a trainwreck. Planetside 2, conversely, is an amazingly good game. Yes, it resembles Battlefield 3 in terms of its gameplay more than it resembles a crappy game that came out a decade ago. Big surprise there.
Dust could learn a lot from Planetside. I hope it learns a lot. For example, nobody wants to pay money for a gun you lose when you die. Even if it's a few cents. People do, however, want to spend tens if not hundreds on cosmetic upgrades. Not a dumb suit you also lose when you die, but actual skins you can apply to any armor or weapon.
These two games being out together will be good. They will be able to take ideas from each other, and so improve their gameplay as a result. Be happy Planetside 2 is out and is so popular. |

SC is
1. being released to use the friggin hmd that i can't remember the name of. oh yeah the oculus rift. if sony would go ahead and announce that ps4 is going "screenless" and coming with a hmd vr option, then yeah maybe 514 might make a step forward in the console scene. but to call 514 better then all on pc? that's beyond a stretch. 3d hmd vr, look left, camera moves left. that's gonna trump all.
2. if sc can do what it says: you can fly through space, fly into orbit, fly into lower orbit, land and get out and continue with no load screens... THAT kills all the rest.
3. elite looks ok, but i'll wait to see more.
4. 514 still is just a lobby based shooter. not even persistant.

Do you even play it yourself? We spent a month trying as hard as we could to get them not to launch the half-finished buggy build we were still testing, and they did it anyway. Half the time I try and shoot someone they just teleport onto buildings or walk up into the sky. Might wanna think before posting, man. |

This game/build is awesome. This is the first time in a long time that a game caught my interest since battlefield, but this game better. This game is fun. The iron sights is a huge plus. This only close beta, I still didn't get a change to take over a planet yet. I can only imagine how incredible thats going to be. It's still some things they should work on, but I'm sure they can fix that. |
