Don't think that would work, cloaking would be game breaking not to mention the cloaking in EVE is has rules such as any object within 2km breaks the cloak or using any mods or such, thus for this to be even viable said dropship would have to be very very high up, not have it's gunners use any weapons and the moment someone jumped out cloak would break due to the jumper interfering with the cloak field. |

Cloaking should be fitted to the weapon slots so that you could either choose to be offensive and have turrets, or defensive and use cloak.
If the ship gets hit, cloak goes down. If someone jumps out, cloak goes down. As long as you can't shoot and cloak, I'm fine with dropships having it. |

Shorter range limit with some kind of "atmosphere does awesome things for cloaking" explanation, but there's still a point where an enemy has to get closer to disrupt cloak.
Still no shooting or jumping out while the cloak is active - cloak has to be deactivated first, THEN you can jump. Add a time limit and a cooldown and a restriction on activating cloak too soon after someone jumps or a gunner shoots, and you have an effective ambush tool, OR an effective escape mechanism, but not both. And it costs PG/CPU and a slot somewhere (probably high slot).
How is it going to be game-breaking? |

lol wtf i know the games are related but i doubt they would add the exact same mechanics of a cloaking device. besides im sure they would lower the range from 2km that is ridiculous. It could work like this while cloaked vehicle can not fire, its speed is reduced, if an enemy comes to close to it it will not be decloaked but you will start to notice its transparency fade simple as that. I however could see this module be more for dropships then ground vehicles
also modules like shield boosters, speed modules and anything you would have to activate could not be used. |
