EDIT: No one seems to have problems with the weapon prices, so I guess this isn't needed.
The damage gap between tiers of a weapon have been substantially decreased. I think this may be a good thing, but I'm not really sure, but the higher tier weapons need to reflect this. There are 2 solutions to fixing this without raising damage again:
Price cuts for advanced and prototype weapons.
OR More recoil, overheat, inaccuracy, less fire rate, or whatever else (depending on the weapon) for lower tier weapons. Since damage is no longer enough to justify the higher price, then higher tier weapons need some kind of advantage to make them worth buying.
Perhaps a mix of both solutions would suffice; a modest price reduction, and a modest (NON-DAMAGE) nerf of lower tier weapons. Thank you for reading. |

I disagree as well - I was burning all sorts of nerds just now with the Viziam LR.
You do bring up great points, though. a 20% reduction in price would be useful, but not needed.
I don't want to see proto weapons every match so i'm mostly ok with things they way they are. |

I disagree, I love my grimlock forge. Also loving the new red and white paint job. Makes me feel badass when I blow derpships out of the sky.

The high tier mass driver is only slightly better than the basic one (say only about 215 splash damage vs 185) but now add on the 10% bonus I have in proficiency, plus the 10% light weapon damage modifier, and the splash damage goes from 215 to 258.
258 damage (me) vs 185 damage (someone else who hasn't skilled into the mass driver very far) is a big difference. Even if I still used the basic one, it would only give me 222 instead of 185, which is about the difference between the regular and the proto.
The same applies to the ARs and other weapons, just on a smaller scale. Looking at it now, I could do just as much damage with a basic driver provided I have the skills as I could with a proto without skills and modifiers.
Either way, a few points of damage increase goes a long ways when you consider how many bullets you can put into someone, or how many modifiers you can add onto your weapons. |
