I was messing around with the iron sights a little and I actually like them. That said I think maybe the issue is the type of iron sight CCP used and how it was implemented.
For some perspective here is an example of other sight pictures:

The current sight is a open rear sight with a post front sight. Is is possible that another sight type maybe have a rear peep may have curbed the issue?
Maybe it would have been better to meet folks halfway have and (given the sci-fi setting) make the standard "iron sights" a reflex or holographic sight instead. I think having some sort of "iron sight" give better immersion to the game. |

dont they have to make the ironsights first before they make the reflex because isnt the ironsight model part of a reflex sight seen in the old video on the ARs |

Iron sights are there on modern guns to give you a option to aim when a reflex/red dot sight is broken and doesnt work anymore. So its just normal to suggest that you would want to keep this feature in the future. Iron sights are basic and every gun has them. |

There was a movement in modern weapon design to move away from Iron Sights and instead have advance sights be the standard (although this resulted in some failed ventures).
An example of this would be the OICW weapon program.

Some modern guns have no iron sight, but they are normally criticized for though in gun reviews.
The backup iron on red dots are needed since they stop working if battery dies, not good in combat with no backup. The Gallente lar needs electricity to fire, so the draw back is less of an issue.
I think iron sights are fine as standard, we will eventually be able to fit different sights, so a base iron sight will be fine. |

Hmm.. didn't use iron sights yet. Good to know a game got them right as far as how to aim with them. |

I just don't understand how a sci-fi game has the same weapon sights they used in 1914. But I love the sights, really. I just hate proto heavy prices :) |

SO REAL! iron sights are more realistic than some of the basic weapon mechanics at this point for a "future" setting. |
