Granted im going to get flammed for it so go ahead and get it outta the way, I joined a game late and went 6-1, was in the game less than 5 minutes...and yes i know the longer your in the game the better the payout. however, that one death cost me over 90k for the proto suit not to mention the AUR gear that i run...So i died one time...and didnt even get enough to fund the suit. |

Maybe you shouldn't be running in prototype suits then. You've got the option to join a game with militia gear as well.
In EVE Online the mantra is "dont fly what you cant afford to lose", same applies here. |

I'd never join a game straight out in my most expensive suit. It just makes sense to go out and judge the scene before deciding if I need or would simply benefit from using a better suit. You've got to work out the risk before you put masses of isk on the line. Knowing that you were joining halfway through the battle, you should know that you won't get a high isk payout, so using a proto suit was really really stupid and was never going to pay off. |

agreed...but its pretty sad that you can kill 6 people...and only die one time and lose money...in that three minutes i played i was 2nd place on the winning side with 6 and 1 considering isk payout is based on time in match and war points...2nd place with war points should give more isk payout...considering i did better in the 3 minutes i was in the match than over half of the side i was on did.
yes i know i have a choice to choose and i chose to use a proto...no, i dont use them often i nearly always use my B series. But obviously, there really isn't a point in using proto gear anymore...kill switch is now better than duvolle and a good type B suit is better than proto... I could have went 0 and 1 and lost just as much ISK. |

Dust is risk vs reward, is it worth deploying in better gear? Are your opponents skilled enough that you'll probably die quickly in an engagement with them? If you deploy in proto gear will you get everything you can out of it? Take everything into consideration and then once you have make your move.
Basically, don't use what you can't afford to lose and if it's not worth the risk don't do it. |

That's it. Fix that, and problem solved.
Time in match shouldn't matter, EXCEPT in that it provides the player with more opportunity to earn WP, therefore indirectly giving them an advantage over late joiners. A good enough player who out-performs his/her teammates in half their playtime should be rewarded appropriately for their contribution. |
