During fanfest 2012 (and it is recorded at the last quarter of the video "Role on batterfield" that you can view in video section of the official dust site), ATLI MAR SVEINSSON and EINO JOASS responded to a viewers question if Beta players will keep their skillpoints with the phrase "we ll look into ways to reimburse skillpoints although identities will be deleted". Do we have any official respond or update into this ? |

I'm almost positive we're getting a full SP / ISK wipe upon release, with a reimbursement of AUR and special items.
It would be stupid to do it any other way. |

Yes but game's Creative Director said that they look into reimbursing SPs. So, i am seeking a DEV's response and not just "opinions". I have also an opinion but its not worth a cent  |

Latest word from the devs is there should be a reset going beta to not-beta. You won't be keeping your progress when the game goes live. Plans change, this apparently is one of them. |

correct, they've said it before, there are a minimal amount of resets coming. at least two. one when we move to TQ and one when the game "launches" |

We don't need our SP carried over from beta that would just be dumb we gained experience on the game which will give us an advantage already once the game goes live. Plus all the other goodies received from event's I have 2 full set's of skinweaver suit's myself plus mutltiple merc pack's which will be fully reimbursed once the game goes live and or any possible wipe's that may happen before the full release
P.S. If you want an official response and not player response send a mail to support rather then posting a topic |

You are absolutely right i just want to read this from CCP DEVS in order to stop daydreaming. Perhaps (most propably) they are keeping us in dark regions in order not to lose our interest for the BETA. |

It's from the devs, I just don't know where a link is or if there is one. It was said in a Q&A session I think, and I also got it directly from my nagging in private conversations a few months ago or however long it's been. For a while there they said there wouldn't be one, but then they said plans had changed at that there is now one scheduled for release. That's the last they've talked about it, maybe 2-3 months ago or so. |

Last official word I saw from a dev on these forums was that we'll get a (VERY short) headstart on Tranquillity between the last reset and the public release of the game. |

Okay wait. A character wipe is one thing but a complete loss of character? What the kitten hell!? What about our corps? Do we lose those too? Can someone else come along and not only take our name but also take our corp name?

Of cause they can, you can already take names and corps etc on TQ now.
I know someone who's already taken several corps names for ransom and if CCP didn't reset the corps etc it wouldn't be good at all because those of us who are CEO's like myself would have an advantage again as we wouldn't need to save up over 1m isk for the corp and then the isk for skill books etc. |

Honestly, no. Wouldnt be fair to start with.
Expect a reset when going to open beta. Then, dunno if they'll reset again. but that's to be expected. |

why should the people who just signed on with Open Beta have all those extras.....
I just wish they won't Delete profiles. not like anyone is going to steal my name or anything but it would be nice to keep all of my contacts intact and not worry about did this person change one letter of their name.. |

Wipe out/Reset is given.
We already have huge advantage after training our skills as beta testers. Can you imagine all the fresh blueberries once the game is released?
it is simply 2 much to let us keep our skill points. A fresh start for all is what you will see. |

I agree with all you guys talking about fairness in wiping everything out when game goes Live. It would be weird to say the least if beta players get such a boost. I just wanted to clarify it after viewing the fanfest 2012 video. In any case from what i read in PSN, only people who buys during beta AUR will get a full refund after each reset and during the transition to Live.

it's been known the entire time the beta has been going that there is to be a wipe for TQ transfer (technically not a wipe as there's no data on TQ to wipe) and then again when launch.
it's not opinion, it's the current fact. |

As someone who just bought the merc pack to get into beta, I would seriously hope there'd be some sort of wipe.
I consider a wipe a given, but this is just the perspective of some fresh eyes. After playing several games with multiple tanks and basically no effective way to deal with them, or being attack by what must be heavily upgraded heavy dropsuits, I can say that it would lead to nothing but frustration for most newcomers.
I don't mind so much, as I still get ISK and SP regardless of how terrible I do, but it's still worth noting. |
