I have been playing Dust 514 for months now, and every other public battle I participate in is unbalanced in terms of player skill and equipment. I have been in battles in which players are leading massacres against others with prototype weapons or a squad of players with Aurum gear leading the scoreboard 20 to 0. It doesn't matter what teams they are on, there is a distinct and stacked advantage given to a team when someone with prototype gear jumps in and destabilizes the battle. For the losing team this is pronounced with massive asset losses and negligible profit which results in players losing all their money and assets, unable to continue playing without using militia gear and subject to the above. Check on public battle balance and restrict which battles players join based on gear please, no one wants to be fed to a meat grinder every other battle. |

Dust is the Wow of the fps market, gear------------------------ skill.
Casual players will always be at a disadvantage in this game and thats how most want it but it may be the downfall of dust.
Some will say they do well in malitia stuff but against higher teared suits and guns it comes more down to luck unless the proto geared player is a complete **** and usually ends in another death.
Think after the initial newness has gone dust will become a niche game with a few hard core fans and that will suit them but without the influx and casuals it will become stale. |

The team makeups are also extremely unfair as far as squads- it always seems one team has 2 or more premade squads while the other has none. |

Except WoW is a RPG and DUST 514 is a FPS so PvP should be more even. Also maybe everything will get better when PvE is introduced |

Most other fps you can remain competative with your starter stuff, try going against a proto geared player with equal skill you know the out come hence gear-----------------------skill and wow referance was just to compare not meant as an exact copy |

No one in their right mind is going to deny that this is a problem in the current build of DUST.
The problem stems from a small player base in a closed beta. On release, pub games will have a match-making system that will reduce the chances of new players fighting proto players.
At this point in time there isn't anything that can be done about it. Balance between proto, adv, and militia suits is good. |

Think after the initial newness has gone dust will become a niche game with a few hard core fans and that will suit them but without the influx and casuals it will become stale. At the moment, I'd agree with you, longer running players with more SP and better equipment will be in a better position than players in basic stuff. It's currently not impossible for someone in militia gear to take down someone in the higher tier equipment, but it certainly is difficult/unlikely.
I don't think that's a problem though.
Hopefully some sort of matchmaking will be implemented to try to ensure that games are even.
At the moment, I have neither the skills or the ISK to run good gear, so I tend to use either militia or standard equipment, but that forces me to try and be more tactical and, where possible, work with my squad (and team) mates to take objectives.
I have, admittedly, pretty much stopped playing Ambush until I feel I can play it competitively, but there's a whole lot more to Skirmish than who's got the biggest gun. I've often been in the top five of a team with very few kills because I play the scenario. |

This will be as good as it gets for casual players and they wont stick at it even the passive sp wont keep them in with a chance, add cost of skills plus replacement suits and your stuck in a vicious circle, by the time they start to get a foot on the laadder the pro's will already be half way up the second one |
