Now, before anyone starts calling me names or throwing unnecessary insults my way please know that i have been a very active Dust514 player and i have done my fair share of bug reporting and the likes.
But there is something that's bothering me as of late. I think most people will share my frustration with certain broken aspects of the game like hit detection, lag, frame rate issue etc etc the list goes on.
My question is why can't ccp fix these game breaking issues first then focus on the events and tournaments afterwards? i mean aren't these issues more important than the unnecessary events they keep having?

I think the only way they can get numbers up to test things is to bribe the bored playerbase |

here dude I'll give you a good answer, its because in reality CCP only wants to build the player base first, their thinking that this is going to be exactly like eve and its not, its got too many issues and they just want people to play. The only time we dont have many issues is when CCP pulls out all the stops opens up all the nice servers that can handle us and just make it seem like this game is fixed so they can go "bugs? I dont see any the game seems to be running fine, here have some drop suits so you will be quiet".
CCP cant fix the issues at hand because that would require taking the game off line for a long time and redoing the main core of the game over again. Hotfixes aren't going to fix it, its a problem at the center itself. There trying to get the game out as fast as possible so Sony or someone at the higher level stops bugging them and threating to pull the plug on the project completely.
Remember CCP is at sony's will since sony is basically the ones letting this whole entire thing go on their console in the first place, so SONY is the real people in control. |

Ummm....
PATIENCE, perhaps?
Or are you implying that as Beta testers we are all PATIENTS inflicted with CCP's disease? |

They're getting all the scheduled events on their calendar so they can move onto the next build. They feel every beta tester who contributed should get the suits and such, so they're giving them another chance this build. Moreover, its to get more people online in preparation for the new build.
Edit: I give it a week and a half to two weeks till the new build. They're finishing up all the events this week and Christmas is coming up. It would be perfect timing if they made the new build before Christmas due to the holiday related resurgence of gamers. |

And here I am thinking these events were intended to gather data on the server metrics. |
