I've been focusing on putting all my skills to dropships. Ever since these newer builds I've seen less and less of them, and it's a shame because dropships give a unique advantage to a team. So if you've got any info for a beginner, please leave them here! (Especially actually flying one, I tried it once and crashed in seconds!!!) |

This is advice for any vehicle that relies on other players (aka dropships and LAVs)- when you're pretty sure nobody is gunning for you at the moment, you should always think about your passengers and gunners. Put passengers over an area you think would be helpful for them, and try to keep the dropship low enough, level, and in a position for gunners to get a good shot while covering the passengers.
One game I went 15-3 as a logi with a scrambler pistol (disregard the first death because that was a starter fit); I owe deal of the credit for that to the dropship pilot who put me in a very good position whenever I respawned. Too bad I don't know who it was. |

I'm considering a railgun dropship. Missiles got nerfed. I guess the proto missiles perhaps are ok. If there are alot of AV try to stay moving. When we get shot at by a blaster gunship we all start laughing on the mic. I'm thinking dropship is now somewhat more AV roll. Cycled missle turrets might be good for AV or they were. Dropship currently now has not much anti infantry roll. If we didnt get rolled around so hard by one swarm volley extraction would be more feasible.
Right like Mcbob said, if the dropship is coordinating with troops on the ground especially directly beneath it, some real majic can happen. I saw 2 coordinated squads with a 3rd flying in a dropship flying slow overhead of the 8 infantry , was freakn beautiful.
Or 2 dropships in a squad of 4 each with 1 gunner all on mic was a good one. |

except for transport in serious corp matches they are not usefull anymore. There are no turrets that will work on a dropship and for spawns on a CRU you wont get WP neither. So you have for public matches a flying pinata. |

Don't expect anyone to get any kills with small railguns (aside from maybe close-by heavies). However, the scare factor of the explosions along with dealing surprise damage to other vehicles can help whatever infantry you drop off.
Just remember to tell your gunners that railguns can fire up to 3 shots on 1 charge before they overheat. |
