So, we all know that some people want bigger groups to play with more of their friends and others don't want bigger groups due to fear of pub stomping. Well, we are playing a game that is highly based around skills and we have to level those skills to make them better, right? Why not make a grouping skill that all beginning classes you pick start with already and say give it a x3 or maybe a x5 multiplier. Something like this:
Infantry Squad Size x3 or x5
Level 1: Lets you have 4 players in a squad maxed. Level 2: Lets you have 4 players in a squad maxed. (No changes from Lv. 1) Level 3: Lets you have 8 players in a squad maxed. Level 4: Lets you have 8 players in a squad maxed. (No changes from Lv..3) Level 5: Lets you have 16 players in a squad maxed.
This away you'd have to work to have bigger squads. In away, it'll also provide balance
Quote:What balance is there when you can deploy in a match with 16 members from a corp vs 16 randoms?
Truth be told, there isn't a balance. So make each mode squad size specific. Like this, also I'm gonna assume they are going to add 64v64 matches too. Don't know if they plan to or not but I'm going to add them in anyway.
High Sec Skirmish 16v16 > 4 man squads only. 32v32 > 8 man squads only. 64v64 > 16 man squads.
Low Sec Skirmish 16v16 > 8 man squads only. 32v32 > 16 man squads only. 64v64 > 16 man squads.
Null Sec Skirmish 16v16 > 16 man squads. 32v32 > 16 man squads. 64v64 > 16 man squads.
High Sec Ambush 16v16 > 4 man squads only. 32v32 > 8 man squads only. 64v64 > 16 man squads.
Low Sec Ambush 16v16 > 8 man squads only. 32v32 > 16 man squads only. 64v64 > 16 man squads.
Null Sec Ambush 16v16 > 16 man squads. 32v32 > 16 man squads. 64v64 > 16 man squads.
Quote:What would be the point of having corp battles then if you can have 16v16 matchs? You could just Q-sync to do them
With corp battles, you can place the amount of ISK from 1 million to 50 million. You can't earn that much in pub games. Secondly, you wont have to worry about randoms in any way joining in unless you invite them. Lastly once we reach 0.0 I highly doubt you'll see randoms running solo unless they don't know any better. |

Fixed.

Was thinking of doing it like that but I tried to keep things an intervals of 8 as much as possible.

It would honestly make since. In both EVE Online DUST514 you have to train skills and with corps it is a skill that you have to train. Why not do the same with squad sizes? |

All of the "problems" you've mentioned that necessitate the game being divided into 9 separate queues, with many of those queues being newbie traps for them to join and get redlined/farmed in, are things that can be addressed by modifying the corp v. corp mechanics themselves. You've suggested a relatively big and involved change to the game for stuff that only requires a few tweaks to an existing feature to address.
There are two things that can't be allowed to happen: First, you can't get two corps which are friends with each other to queue in a manner that'll gain them SP, stack both teams, and just trade revives/kills for 15 minutes for huge ISK/SP payouts; and second, you can't have corps stacking entire teams to redline and spawn camp random public game teams. Both of those are bad for the game. Facilitating these things would be a mistake for CCP to do. Your desire to have organized fights is fine, and is what corp v. corp contracts are for. It's a new system, and needs tweaks. But your desire to farm pubbies or to exploit the game and trade kills with a friendly corp is not fine, and is not something CCP ought to feel they should accommodate. |
