I've been thinking about a feature to make corp battles easier to get going, fairer and more competitive and also much more frequent. I would love if there could be a feature implemented that would have the game automatically find possible opponents.
My vision would be something like this:
The tab we currently have for corp battle could display all the possible corp battles available following a few parameters.
The game would scan at all times how many people from your corp were online and pair it with other corps currently online with as many online too. So if your corp currently has 8 people online (and not currently deployed), the battle finder would show other corps that also have at least 8 available.
The game would need to rank dropsuit and vehicle fittings by meta level. I know meta levels are particular to each equipment and afaik there's no average fitting meta level but in order to make this work we'd need a way to rank each fitting. If not by average level, it could either be by primary weapon meta level or highest meta level in each fitting. So, with that established the game would find each corp member's minimum and maximum meta level fittings. Imagine you currently have 8 of your top members online and they all have fittings with high meta levels. In that case the battle finder would offer possible battles with other corps who also had at least 8 members online with similar meta levels. In contrast, imagine you have 16 members online but not all are your top members and a few are still newish and run meta level 1 fittings. Yet, your top members prepared their fittings by including low meta level fittings too for cases like this. So in this case the battle finder could find another low level corp with 16 members online and would offer a possible battle using only low meta level fittings.
If CEOs eventually can distribute officer roles inside corps, battles could be accepted through several ways. For instance CEOs could pick from their corp particular members, officers to have the power to accept these corp battles in the finder only when either the CEO or these appointed members are online. CEOs could adjust many other things regarding these battles in corp management. They could set the battle finder to search other available corps with meta levels higher than yours, they could set a meta level up to which your corp didn't need officers online to accept, just enough regular members to vote for a battle to start.
The corp battle finder would have the following info:
- Opponent corporation
- Battle mode
- Map
- Number of players
- Dropsuit max. meta level
- Vehicle max. meta level
I think a feature like this could get many more corp battles going. It could need some regulation behind it like a cool off period so that some corps wouldn't battle each other all the time but done well could get CEOs the chance to find battles frequently and if meta levels were brought into it, it would mean that smaller corps would always have a fighting chance against top corps. |
