I came into this beta a time after they got rid of it. I've known the reasons why they got rid of it (exploiting it on vehicles if i've learned correctly), but I've never learned how it worked.
Was there a fixed amount of WP you got for repairing? Did the amount received increase per repair blip when using one of the remote repair tools that repairs more? Was it even based on repair blips?
I mean, if you repaired faster, but got even LESS WP for doing so...just seems counter-productive, know what i'm saying?
I'd imagine the values weren't different when repairing vehicles or armor, since it'd take longer to repair the same percentage of a vehicles armor anyway.
I'm kinda thinking now and before that repairs aren't performed in units, just a constantly rising amount. It'd make sense, since you'd get the same amount of WP for repairing the same percentage of armor, but you'd get more in a shorter time frame if you were to be using the higher tier ones that have a higher RPS than the standard; eliminating what I thought might be a problem (getting less WP for using a higher tier one. Again, only a problem if remote repair tools repaired in blips).
That's just a theory I have on how it worked, the existence of which is ridiculous seeing as this is a solid process that occured not too long ago and I should probably already know this.
TL;DR: CAN ANYBODY EXPLAIN TO ME HOW PRE-HOT FIX REPAIR WP WORKED? |

I'm pretty sure it was total repair based not percentage |

Didn't quite understand the blips you talked about but think that's kind of right.
Basically you got 25 WP every so many seconds of repairing ... so effectively the proto repair tool earnt less for repairing the same damage because it did it faster.
It needed adjusting before it was removed ... they should have a better system in place when it returns next build. |

Yeah, kinda figured that wasn't coming out right. I meant like it heals 25pts all at once and then there was a delay before it did it again.
Knowing that it gave you intermediate WP with no change based on armor repaired is...disheartening. I'll be happy with anything, but I'm going to hope they do it based on repair per second.
Kudos to you and the poster above you, but would you happen to know how much you had to repair (or just an estimate) to get one 25 unit of WP?

It's just taken about 10 minutes of digging but I've found the old post for you ...
As I said I think it was just done on the time spent repairing so maybe every 5 seconds you'd get 25 points, have a read through this very good thread, it'll probably tell you more than I can remember ...

Edited : I say very good thread ... at least the OP is very good, it gets a bit messy when someone fails to understand him, but bear with it, I remember it was a good discussion on the WP for repair solutions at the time. |

From what I remember, it was pretty broken. Think it was every X seconds of repairing you get WP. |

Thank you fellow clone!
I find it odd that I must've stumbled upon that. I already liked the OP...I'm pretty forgetful. Tagging this to favorites. Just noticed that little button today.

time reping didn't give you WP HP Reped gave you WP. 25 for vehicles and buildings, and I think 15 for ground pounders |

so say someone just kept the repper targeted and kept crashing the lav into the building, they would get points, see the point now?
I tried it out and it worked, free wp, sitting behind the redline. Cheap if you ask me.
but now I actually understand that half of the work of finding things i put into his game dosent really matter cause in the end I just get an AR to the face from someone who just swipes mommys credit card and buys BPO's. |

I don't know if this was mentioned in that long thread, but using PS2's system would work well. Repping would be better off with only having wp/sp accrued when healing damage done by an enemy entity. Crashing into a structure and friendly fire would earn you nothing. |

Yes this was suggested, wether in that thread or another ...problem with that is damage needs to be tracked as to how it was inflicted until it is repaired. |
