(First fourm post btw :P) Hello!.. We all need a break from all the shooting and explosions going about on the battefield and we Allllll like making money, so why not let us do that while relaxing? How about a little gambling minigame whatever it be poker, blackjack, craps or any super future game....not only will it let corps and such sit down and goof off after a long hard battle and win one anouthers money, but it could also bring in a new gameplay style for players or corps.
P,S this is my first time posting something so please be gentle should you bash me :( |

It would be a nice idea to have something to spend your money on aside from buying stuff. If done right it would definately create something fun to do since there will be social districts.. and social districts without social games are no fun. I like your idea. |

First fourm post and I already got 2 posts with positive views :o
But I'm also thinking it could be in the battle finder tab untill we get those social spaces....then all we need are custom characters :x |

When Gladiator Arena (E-sports) comes, we will be able to spectate battles and gamble on them. |

Could we also have betting on battles or particular players? That'd be a nice addition in my opinion too.
Take care,

I thought of something else
You can also gamble gear, should you lose some much and wanna make a comeback
And also, a VIP gambling for people who want to try it with cold hard cash (I'm talking about AUR) as a high stakes match |

CCP can't do this as it would require them to register as an online casino, which has become much harder as of late. Gambling is limited to ISK. |

There was a plan for this for Walking in stations in EVE. O course since CCP decided they dont want to do Walking in stations anymore, even after implementing a half baked captains quarters, i doubt it will ever see the light of day |

Gambling is an intended feature of Dust. It was mentioned at Fanfest and when I spoke to CCP Unifex at the Newcastle meet it was obvious that its something the CCP want to build on as a way of community building and interaction between Dust and Eve players.
They are restricted by very strict gambling laws however so it can only be done using in game currency. Gambling with Aurum, would be illegal in the UK certainly (unless with safeguards to prevent underage gambling and CCP gets a UK gambling licence) as it has a real world monetary value and the Gambling Commision in the UK would be having words with CCP pretty quickly. So that rules out gambling with Aur purchased items as well. I'm a betting shop manager so I know all about gambling law in the UK at least.
It'll be interesting to watch this develop. |

I thought I read somewhere that SecWars (Slay on EVE) was supposed to fill this purpose (where it would be possible to bet on matches). I actually only discovered Slay recently and since I didn't need a beta key, started playing it for fun. Only problem is that there is never anyone else playing and the fact that one needs to log in to PSHome. I'd like to see this in the NeoCom. There are a couple of iPad alternatives, but none come close to the Dust version.
Just my two cents... |
