I'm sick of SP>skill, it's even bigger of a flaw now than it has been in any build, I was way behind on SP when I first started this game, but I could still compete with people who had 5-10 mill SP, now I'm a wad of paper with 1.5m vs people with 5m, this is so out of proportion, SP>skill is the dumbest thing I've ever NERF EVERYTHING. |

Sounds like you are playing a game that doesn't suit your play style. There are plenty of other shooters out there that don't have an RPG element incorporated into the gameplay. |

The definition of pay to win is that you can pay for things that otherwise can't be obtained. There is nothing in my knowledge on the market that can't be achieved by playing the game.
Paying in dust only gets you some stuff a little faster then when you would grind for them.
The only thing that could help this problem is better matchmaking, as in beginnerslevel vs. fully geared level. As long as this isn't in the game 'your' problem will always exist. The only people NOT affected by this are those already in proto gear. |

guess what, SP boosters increase cap, passive boosters don't affect cap but neither does passive SP, basically meaning it increases your cap ^_^ |

They've never increased the cap that's coming in a hotfix this month.
You're suffering from two main problems:
Most of the players now have been here since the last wipe. When the game goes live you're going to have a regular influx of new players so you're not going to be the only one on the field with low SP. The only thing you can do is just wait it out. All current records will get deleted anyway so it really doesn't matter.
Second thing you've got against you is the biggest reason that the current SP cap is a horrible way to go. People who are ahead will always be ahead and there's nothing you can do about it. As for a solution to that problem you gotta wait on CCP. I wish they'd just remove the cap and diminishing returns up to like 4 mil SP and call it a day but whatever, I'm not a DEV. |

I like the idea that the more SP you already have the less you earn, it would force people to make alts to try something they like rather then make a do-all character. |

Diminishing returns are dumb and mean I can't ever catch up.
The people who work for things get rewarded IRL. Why all of a sudden is it okay to say "everyone has to be equal"?! in DUST SP wise? In fact, the SP system works against me tbh. I have 2mil SP, but I will NEVER be able to catch up to the people who grind for hours every day, no matter what, because my grindin for a week hurts me just as much as it hurts the people ahead with diminishing returns.
The more I think about it, the more the game obviously contradicts itself tbh |

It's stupid, and I hate it probably more than you, but I think you're missing the bigger picture.
The problem is that we don't have enough players for the matchmaking system to actually work. Also, we don't have different planets / security systems to split people up in. So, instead of pitting high SP players vs high SP players, and low vs low, you have a mix.
And it basically ends up with you dumping a full clip into someone, only to have them finally derp in your direction to kill you after missing you a ton while you're reloading >_< |

SP isn't your issue. The issue is that the stacking penalty was broken in this build, and actually gives bonuses for multiple modules. I now use an ELM-7 Laser Rifle with two Complex damage mods, and I burn through Heavies in seconds, and anything else in even less time. Most people at this point are using the GEK with as many damage mods as they can put on, and if you do that with the Duvolle or an Officer rifle, you're untouchable. Also, AR kick and dispersion isn't working properly right now, and will be fixed in the next build. |

You shouldn't forget about ISKs.
I'm suggesting this in almost every threads . However, I'm not tired and do it again.
We need to have separate levels of randoms battles with different ISK gain limits. Proto geared merc should be highly punished by ISKs if he dies even once in battle with militia geared noobs. |

You just need to change your perspective, and perhaps polish your skills a little bit. Here are some things which you should bear in mind:
(1) Anyone using any prototype level weapons is losing money on the match that they're playing unless they're particularly lucky that match. Wearing a prototype weapon virtually guarantees that you'll need to be in at least an advanced suit. By this point you're looking at at least 100k ISK of investment per suit. Lose two of those puppies and you're probably out ISK for the entire round. Lose three and you're definitely looking at a loss. And trust me, you will lose 2-3 suits per match.
(2) People who aren't confident in their skill levels right now are running around in the best gear they can buy, up to and including prototype gear. They then alternate rounds between playing in prototype gear and playing in militia/standard/otherwise BPO gear. This is the only way you can manage to draw even in the long run. This is unfortunately not punished at the moment because there's no reason to save ISK when there's nothing on which to spend the ISK.
Taking these two things together, what you can conclude is that many players are making the choice to "force" themselves into ISK-neutral play so that they can enjoy the benefits of padding their stats when in higher level gear. This is working exactly as intended in some sense. In the final product you won't find many people, except those that want to make high sec the focus of their mercenary lives, choosing the type of play we see now. In the end making money will be more important than uselessly padding stats.
Even so, I've found that it's easy to maintain extremely high KDR's with mostly standard level equipment (17k/suit). Call it rightly as a personal anecdote, but I've killed tons of players in advanced and prototype gear because many times players with that stuff on are overconfident and in some cases just aren't quite as quick on their feet. It's more than achievable- it's easy, and you can make a lot of ISK this way. Instead of crying on the forums, you should take some time to find strategies that work against players in better gear than you have. You'd be surprised in that most of the time you can at the very least escape a bad engagement, if not outright win most.
The skill point cap is a bit poorly implemented at the moment, but the actual power of the gear when balanced out with cost? Yeah, that seems to be working as intended. Incidentally, that's the reason why it's absurd to request ISK Fest rewards back- you shouldn't ever be able to afford playing in prototype gear constantly in high sec space. |

I think the complaint is hilarious. I've been playing for about a week now and what he is complaining about is what every other noob feels when playing against all of you. You have weapons and armour we don't and skills topped out. Most of us new players never stand a chance in battle. You need more players to make matchmaking work correctly but you won't get them unless matchmaking works correctly. New players will drop out if always matched against one-shot killers. Need to have a random spawn location to stop the spawn camping too.
But game has huge potential. |
