So the current match system works like this:
(1) The system searches for a minimum number of players. (2) When this minimum is reached, a new game is created with a 1 minute War Barge lobby timer. (3) The game initiates no matter the state of the teams as soon as the timer runs out. (4) Players are loaded in throughout the life time of the match.
This leads to a huge proportion of games initiating before the teams are anything like balanced in terms of numbers, even to the point of the game starting without any players in on one of the teams. In turn, we get these gross matches where one team dominates by default because they take the objectives without resistance, get some advantage on the damage bars, and worse they get the massive tactical advantage of having a bunch of forward spawn points on the map. All of this before one of the teams even loads in.
The solution is simple and obvious- the War Barge lobby needs to wait until the teams are relatively balanced and more full than the current restrictions. A lot of my games today have been really boring because of the current system, and it has to be even worse for new players who don't understand why they're loading into games already losing. |

As I said before, exactly. We need the teams balanced before a match even starts. Not balanced as in skill, that can be worked out later, but balanced in player count first at least. |

so the minimum number of players to start a match is -->one?
Maybe CCP should raise that s little:)

Join game in progress.
Outnumbered 4-to-2. Call in a tank to try and equalise. Teammate drops. Now outnumbered 4-to-1 with a tank that's become a liability.
Get DCed right after abandoning the tank.
Try a new match. End up back in the same one.
Change game mode. 3 vs. 1 Skirmish where the other team holds all the points and each of them has their own LAV so they can cover all the points easily.
Next game is a 7 vs. 2 Ambush. |
