Give them assists for 30 seconds for everything their passengers do when they drop out of the drop ship.
Because they did just basically assist them in achieving all of those kills/ hacks, and what not. Without him, they would have never have gotten to that said location to get all of those kills/ hacks. So why not? |

well its late and im tired but atm i cant think of an exploit for this atm. since there is no milita dropships ppl got to buy them |

Hasn't this been the prevalent suggestion for this since pretty much the beginning of the beta? The fact that they still haven't implemented it after all this time males me think they have their reasons not to. |

The best solution to encourage drop ships to perform the role a lot of people assume they were designed for. I was one of those that suggested this long ago but I took it a step farther to fully encompass the impact of getting troops to we're they are needed...make any player that deploys from a drop ship act like a timed command order. Drop and kill/capture/defend, the pilot gets recognized. Simple and appropriate solution that encourages team play. |

I see 2 minimal things needed for Dropship pilot Warpoints:
Equal WP for kills made by gunners
and
Warpoints for spawns made into their dropship
Then it's simply up to having a game that allows good pilots to live long enough to get kills for their gunners, and a way to kick out freeloading passengers who won't go do their job.
Giving pilots their own fixed belly turret, "aimable" by using the HUD, would also be very helpful.
I'm cool with adding the OP's idea to this also, but piloting is more than being a taxi. |

I'm hoping for multiple roles. A big possibility is scout flying with active scanners, and eWar when we get all the modules. I'm not sure how CCP could award scanning, but in some matches it could be very influential. |

There have been several long-running threads about this suggestion in the feedback/requests subforum.
I'm in favour of it. I think the best option is the "green light" version, where pilots can TELL passengers when to jump, and the passengers get a small bonus for dropping, and a temporary bonus like you get from following orders from your squad leader, and the pilot gets a "commission" bonus for every WP-earning action the passengers take after jumping.
To avoid exploitation of the Dropship, and to encourage people to actually USE the green light, passenger assists should be disabled when the green light is triggered, and not resume for at least a minute after the drop period ends. |
