I got in the beta over the summer and played a lot, but stopped due to borderlands 2. black friday i bought a mic so i figured i should start playing dust again. when i went to play, i noticed not many, if any, people were talking. Do i have to do something specific to enable chat? Will chat go to just my squad or my whole team?
Thanks |

You need to buy an augmenation called a Universal Voice Transmitter, activate it, and then enable voice chat in the settings menu. If you have PTT on press Left on the dpad to talk. :D |

You need to enable voice chat in your options menu and turn off push to talk.
Then in your chat menu, click the channel you would like to communicate in and click enable voice |

You only need a UVT for certain channels such as local and custom channels. You don't need it for corp, squad or team chat |

Go to your settings, you need to enable voice chat because its off by default (its stupid, I know). Also, there is a team chat channel, and a squad chat channel; you can only have voice chat enabled in one, and you can't hear other people who are in the channel you're not in. Its usually best to set it to team chat. Press select when in battle, go to the team tab, and select "enable voice chat", there should be a little green light on the chat you enabled. Also, if your chat is set on "push to talk", it will require you to press a button on the D-pad (either left or right, forgot) when you want to talk. You can check and change your push to talk settings by pressing select, and going to the top. |

Many core channels a UVT is not needed to do what my friend here stated.
TEAM, CORP, SQUAD (hopefully ALLIANCE, when implemented) all do NOT need UVT.
Any custom channels that you've joined will require the UVT being bought for AURUM.
Hope this helps.
EDIT: LOCAL does not have any voice option and THANK YOU CCP FOR THAT. <3 not even joking. |

The UVT is only needed for public chat channels. You DO NOT need a UVT to use squad or corp chat channels. You simply need to enable voice chat in the game options, then enable chat in your corp channel. You will automatically be put in squad chat if you don't activate voice in a different chat channel first. |
