And I don't understand why someone would think it's OP weapon - so I decide to ask you for opinion, because maybe I doing something wrong. Tell me do you successfully use it and what tactic do you have. In my opinion it's completely not a weapon that you can use in open field, gap between bursts fired is too long for that. There is big chance that if you miss the target in first burst you will not survive to second one. Standard HMG mechanics allows the user to minor errors - if the target will perform a quick maneuver, and you keep holding R1, all you need to do is to target him again - you not losing small aim circle at this action, with BHMG it's actually end of you.
Tell what you think about it. |

If they were horribly op we'd see them a lot more. However, all I ever see is the 82 both isk and aur being used by heavies. |

The 'Broadside' is what you usually see as it's broken at the moment. The burst worked well when the game first started after the wipe when people had less HP in general. Now it's not as useful as it used to be for solo play. That being said in the last build I would squad up with 2 other heavies and a high level logibro and the 3 of us used the burst HMG while defending an objective with the logibro repping us in between waves and we could pretty much take on the entire other team and win every time.
It's not OP, it's not even that useful honestly. The HMG weapons are poorly designed at the moment and don't have much of a benefit at higher levels aside from the standard variant. The burst can be great when you have a good squad and you're defending an objective or position with support around you but it's not so great for running around with. |

I don't see anyone using the burst hmg except maybe for giggles. It is worthless. If you dont take out your target in the first burst your dead.
I don't see anyone using the assault variant either. Ccp took the lazy way out and just mirror the variants if other guns onto the hmg without thinking it through or playing with them in real battles.
At the rate were going they are probably going to eliminate the heavy suit altogether, high expense suits with only one extra slot. So nobody will even spec into proto suits,
To say the hmg is broke is wrong this is the first build the hmg is useful. The only reason you see the mh-82 being used both broadside and not is that it is the only choice we have and some of us are getting good with it.
We need more useful variants and better suit choices. |

not the ONLY choice... but definitely the most affordable.. definitely get the most bang for your buck out of the MH-82(ISK) or broadside (AUR)
the broadside has the same specs as the boundless which runs about 3x the price of the MH-82 if i recall.. but is just nasty.
the difference maker with the whole Heavy setup is how you use your SP. I agree I have yet to see a proto-heavy cause 1 additional slot for the 1.2mil or so SP?
Ive only been playing a month so thats just not an option yet, but I dont know how anyone could justify it unless they had everything else maxed out and it was a rainy day and they simply had nothing better to do... |

I didn't mean broke from a gameplay standpoint. I just meant it is proto damage with advanced fittings and CCP said it was an error (think they did, anyway), along with the 'Codewish' Duvolle Tac Rifle. I'm not looking forward to losing the broadside but I'm pretty sure its on the list of things they're going to fix by increasing the fittings requirements to proto level at some point.
I'll be OK with that if they'll give us some well thought options that aren't just stuck in there to take up space like the burst and assault is now. |

I look at heavies with HMG and frown a little. Poor guys, It's like a logi trying to lone wolf, just a love for masochism.
That said, I still wouldn't want to turn a corner and find ANY type of HMG there. But the only ones that are really effective either put every mod they have increasing damage for kamikaze slaughter runs, or into shields/armor.
Either way, HMG users get a short stick. But then again, like the shotgun and forge gun, HMG shouldn't be a 'do all' weapon like the AR is used.
But I do agree that Heavies will eventually be taken out, they're not balanced at all, even for defense roles. |

the burst is awesome at taking down anything except other heavies at close range, but seems to lose out to standard HMGs in a toe to toe fight |
