Could we have an option to tag a vehicle for extraction via Bolas please? Maybe an equipment tag or something. Personally I ask because it's annoying to lose a vehicle to a random bit of terrain that inexplicably cripples movement. But I think it's reasonable to ask for other vehicles too. In much the same way infantry can swap loadouts at supply depots. |

We can't swap loadouts when we get stuck in a terrain glitch ... so no ...
I have previously supported this idea in intelligent discussion threads ... but not because you want to call back your asset when you get stuck in a glitch in a beta. |

or when you die and someones about to steal your tank and you call it back and it forces them out so they cant go ruin it but it still can be hit with a swarm or something as it gets taken away. |

So I've been thinking about this, and have some ideas.
1. The vehicle can ONLY be recalled if it's empty, or if the owner is the only person in the vehicle.
2. If the owner is in the vehicle, it immediately kicks them out, and either way, the vehicle becomes "locked" and can only be entered by someone first hacking it. A teammate (or the owner) hacking a recalled vehicle will receive no WP for the hack, and ANYONE hacking it will cancel the incoming RDV that's meant to pick the vehicle up.
This won't make it impossible for teammates to use your tank, but it will act as a deterrent and let them know that you don't intend for the vehicle to remain on the field. It also won't stop the enemy from stealing your tank and going for a joyride. |

This has appeared before, but the old thread died. That doesn't change the fact that I support it, and add one more thing:
It wouldn't be New Eden without using a given mechanic for evil as well as good. Although it will take a second or so longer, we should also be able to tag teammates vehicles to put into our own assets! If you've infiltrated a corp to screw up a battle (or your rich teammate calls in a proto-fitted Prometheus) you will definitely love having that particular shovel to play in the sandbox with. |

This being a beta is not a valid objection. If you're assuming that a game of this complexity is going to be glitch-free upon release, then you're tragically naive. Terrain glitches for infantry are far less of a concern than they are for vehicles, and aren't even likely to be encountered by anyone who isn't chasing a sniper up the wrong side of a hill. |

Indeed I've seen many an LAV stuck atop supply depots or when a dropship accidentally rolls over on it's back it's impossible to get it flying again or even when tanks get stuck in gaps or on something underneath them. While I don't think the option should be universally available but if say... there was a time out on them if they had been sitting stationary for too long instead of exploding like they do they just get picked up and returned to their owner. Just a thought. |

I don't believe this will be glitch free on release but I know for a fact that reported glitches will be fixed as quickly as possible.
How are terrain glitches "less of a concern" for infantry than for vehicles ... both get stuck and lose their assets !
Which is the "wrong side of a hill" !?
As I said ... I have supported this idea in the original thread ... but I do not support it in this thread for the reason I've stated twice now. |

I gave my personal reason for suggesting this mechanic, I never said it was the only one. It being annoying is a valid reason among many, to introduce a new mechanic. Terrain glitches are less of a concern for infantry because they don't happen as often, and only on rarely traversed ground. If you're trying to jump up & over crevices in steep slopes, that is the wrong side of a hill, and that is the only time I have ever had terrain glitches on foot. |

I'd like to see an extraction option also, even if the pilot is in it. The pilot and any passengers would go back to the re-deploy screen and go again. I'd even like to see deployment of Pilots in Pilot suits with the vehicles from the Deployment screen. |

You know what? That's a good idea. Then, those vehicles that have been extracted should should remain withdrawn throughout the remaining duration of the match, but still remain in your posession. Idk, maybe ccp can then reduce isk cost for buying vehicles and implement some sort of repair option that costs isk (less than the cost of a whole vehicle of course), and even have the choice of deploying your damaged vehicle in battle. Just a thought, but i'd prefer they keep it simple and just have the option to recall your vehicle for the rest of the battle.... Maybe then, people would be less afraid of deploying and losing their expensive ass vehicles after 5 seconds. |

+1 thread. Implement this. Charge the owner a fee in ISK for the recall. |

In all honesty, you're right. I don't think we should have to pay for an error that puts our hard work to waste.
However, I know that sometimes devs want compensation for their efforts - and thus is to prevent its inherent abuse. I can only imagine players narrowly escaping death and losing millions of ISK in battle, to find a safe area to recall their damaged vessel and preserve their wealth.
I assure you, this game is not that. |

I prefer the idea of drivin / parking the vehicle in a designated area (groin spawn / under MCC as examples). It can the be returned in some way. Let CCP deal with the specifics. But given how smart RDV flight is, you might be better just letting it get blown up anyway :p

Need this. I played with my Dropship the other day, Landed it, it was in a secure area and nobody took it (due to SI being on the same team). Running around on the ground and as I run past the Dropship it just blows up. Now, this seems to happen for all empty vehicles on the field after a certain amount of time. If we had a recall option I could've saved that 800k. |

I'd say it's fair due to the risk factor, consider, it's easy to drop off a vehicle the RDV comes in cloaked, gets close, uncloaks, drops and runs. To pick something up, they'd do the same but precise maneuvering would be required to pick up something meaning more time to be shot at, before it could get to cloaking altitude again. You know like free shipping on your purchase, buut when returning it you always have to pay return costs Besides compared to the cost of said vehicle the retrieval cost should be cheap perhaps 5-10% of the vehicles worth would be fair, beats losing it completely. |
