So I recently got into using Nanite Injectors to pay back my corp's Logibro for all the times he's saved my ass.
The biggest problem I've been having is figuring out when someone can be revived and when they can't, sometimes they just die instantly before I can get a chance to get them back up. So I have a highly unconfirmed list of times when you cannot revive a downed clone: When the soldier was killed by a headshot
When the guy fell to his death
When he is killed right after being revived (sniper camping, etc)
When the guy was crushed by a vehicle (seems kinda iffy, this is the one I'm the most unsure about...)
So if any of you grizzled logivets could help me out with this, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance |

Some players just spam the "respawn" button without waiting to see if they're going to be revived.
And I'm pretty sure there's a "cooldown" on repeatedly reviving someone - they can't be revived toos oon after they've already been revived.
Also, I don't think headshots specifically prevent revival, but high-damage hits can have an "overkill" effect where they push you far enough past dead to prevent revival. |

Being crushed by a vehicle as a heavy don't prevent you from being revived. Unless it a case of a vehicle falling on top of you. Why heavies get knocked out by vehicles to begin witth gets my goat. (The description for all heavy armour is to able to go goe toe to toe with any vehicle.) But being obliterated be it by precision strike or taking a forge gun round to the face (or anywhere) prevents reviving. |

Actually,
In my extensive knowledge in the field of Revives i've made a few observations. The system that determines whether or not a player can be revived is either
-Buggy as KITTEN!
or
-Has more to it than meets the eye.
If a player dies from a bullet passing through his Cranium. He cannot be revived. If a player hits the Respawn after being hit. He cannot be revived.
Those are really the only universal rules regarding Revives.
I've revived people who've been run over, blown up, pushed off cliffs, shot by snipers, stepped on mines, hit by Railguns, even crushed by Dropships. I think i may have done it all.
What i think is going on, provided hypothesis 1 is untrue, is that every death has a hidded "Force" value where upon being revived depends on "how hard you were hit" when you died. For instance there was two different cases of me personally being ran over. During one instance the vehicle was going full speed and i wasn't able to get out of the way (almost never a problem anywhere accpet Manus Kitten Peak) and after i was completely dead with no possibilty of revival.
In a completely seperate instance i was heading toward an LAV to destroy it using my AV grenades where i discovered a Player getting into the LAV heading my way. I threw my first grenade too high and missed the LAV that had gotten slightly closer to me by chance because the driver backed up. after the first toss the driver knew i was behind him and promply reversed into me and after moving a couple feet, crushed me to death. I did not however bleed out and i guess i'd managed to launch my grenade becuase shortly after i died i earned 90 WP.
Keep the faith. |
