I know they aren't in the game just yet. But i was wondering... Will they act like a shield dome/ bunker vehicles and infantry (both allied and enemy) are able to pass through it freely. But are unable to shoot through it? Sort of like how the shield towers work in supreme commander 2?
It would have an enormous amount of shields which would give it the ability to be THE ONLY thing that could protect a section of a map from a mass orbital bombing. or to hunker down a key area from artillery fire, or tank fire.
I really want to know how these things are going to work. |

I really want to know how these things are going to work. well if they work like the MMC spawn....the large missle turrets are gone?hmm have to be a dome so you dont get messed up by slash so the diameter would have to be big enough for that.

technically they have been in the game allready, the first two positions in old V1.0 skirmish where defence relays. |

They kept the MCC from advancing till they were destroyed, and fired on the MCC like they were null cannons. |

Also, the defense relays in the previous builds may have not been what we think they are. They were never actually called those, only points A and B. |

Defence relays were basically destructible null cannons. They prevented the MCC from advancing on the facility. |

If you watch the 2012 fanfest Dust 514 demo, the developers specifically called those points defense relays.
Although they still are subject to change... |

not exactly, as far as i could see they didn't actually shoot anything, but they did keep the MCC back. All the null cannons where in the installation in the second phase |

maybe defence relays give a rounded stat bonus for all near by allied turret installations, which would make it the primary target in a large map that has a certain area locked down my turrets.
I still like the shield tower idea, it gives us all a tool to defend our selves from OB's. |
