Ok, so it's no secret I don't play EvE. However something bugs me about all those kill board posts. Multi billion ISK ships, and the cheapest parts in their entire cargo everytime? A bunch of drones. Drones seemed pretty damn cool when I played the trial. I have also heard from people that they're pretty good in every aspect. There are however no officer drones or anything special like that. So how does this relate to Dust?
PvE in Dust will be focusing heavily on rogue drones. I'd imagine there are also drone production facilities as a form of planetary interaction? So, I propose Dust have the ability to offer EvE players new forms of drone, or atleast variants of the existing types.
I'll start with obvious, factional drones, with different combat stats. Various mining drones. Perhaps even missile drones. Next CCP could expand the EWAR area of drones and repairs, shield boosters with more variation.
Finally add Cyno drones
You may now QQ about cyno drones :D |

I do like the idea of exclusive items that can only be bought from dust players, eventually. |

More the materials requirement that is exclusive to Dust. EvE players could employ groups of Mercs to run PvE missions at a high rate for all "unique" drone part requirements. EvE players would be able to manufacture them, provided that didn't result in the Dust production obviously costing more due to needing space minerals. Hisec only mineral reqs to begin with IMHO. |

I've always enjoyed the indy aspect of Eve and I'm looking forward to seeing CCPs plans for Dust industry in the future.
Imagine moon resources like tech being mined from planets. Or at the very least, if any new materials are seeded into Dust planets, a form of mineral "alchemy" to produce moon goo via planet mineral mining combinations. If you want a way for smaller coalitions to compete in Eve (even if only temporarily), this may be a way to do it. If nothing else, it would at least attract more attention from Eve players. Right now the attitude of most Eve players towards Dust can be described as a large obnoxious yawn, but if you put a financial incentive for controlling planets and actually putting in the work necessary for a decent infantry division for corps and alliances, you'll start to see more players perk up. |

I'm half expecting to see eve players get the ability to attack (or reinforce) us with drones. |

Interesting ideas - however rogue drones are not like player drones, that being said im sure CCP could make something good out of this |

I agree with this. I would like to see more attention from EvE players. I am an EvE player and I am excited at all the possibilities. Of course I did hear that DUST was supposed to be an isk sink for EVE. If that's the case, then what incentive do they have to do anything or contribute to DUST? |

So to try and get a few more ideas, how about a planetary bombardment drone? It'd mean almost any ship (including industrials) would be able to provide support to districts. It'd also allow ships with one of these drone to concentrate on space combat a little more, while their drones support the ground. Different racial drones could cause different strikes i.E. EM/explosive/thermal.
So come on EvE players, what kind of super cool drones would make your day? Wish list away!
I'm amazed no-one has said "omg cyno drone would be super broken!!" which is rather disturbing :P |

Cyno drones, the community would never stand for it. Caldari drones with missiles would be cool. As for faction drones, they already exist. The navies all have them on the LP stores. They're better then tech 1 and 2s but expensive. Also the augmented and integrated types. They're even more expensive. And the bpc can only be gotten off of rogue drones(rare) or mag sites and radar sites in drone space (also rare). So rare that 5 integrated hobgoblins will put you out 400 to 500 mil. |

@Reav That's great news. CCP telepathy ftw.
@Octavian So, if Dusters were able to produce high end hobgoblins ect, that would be a viable, and (fairly) lucrative industry? Obviously, if there are already higher level drones than I know of, they shouldn't be made obsolete by new Dust built drones.
What about salvage drones which can target a district too? Or recon/intel drones? I have no idea how those areas of EvE work, but a combination of a salvage drone + orbital bombardment drone would make for some nice support for us Dusters. |

Drones planet side would be more tank sized and not spaceship sized. The only ones that drop the right parts for integrated and augmented drones are the Sentient rogue drones. They're generally battleship sized due to the amount of neural connections a battleship can fit. Plus more computer equipment. The smaller the drone the more it's just a minion for the hives. |
