Not sure if this was mentioned before though it wouldn't suprise me but...
When I get dropped in place by you people and some awesome logi comes over and picks me up I would like to know who it was if they're not on comms. Something like: "Max Logi injecting" on the HUD while I'm staring off into the bright white light coming at me.
This would help the logi with reputation as people would see how much they help out... Kind of like a personal heal feed instead of a public kill feed.
I would like to see some notification you are being repaired as well. Same as above just not in the middle of the screen. I know you can watch your armor going up I would just like to know who's doing it without needing to turn around (away from enemy) and point my weapon (flagging the hell out of) at the person helping me out.
Okay so it doesn't need to be a logi strictly speaking...

If I would've known that I would've quoted, linked or added to that/those threads... Didn't mean to steal your idea Garrett. Sorry.
I just recently found a crew to run with, with comms, and they're going to spec into logi which got me thinking about this. |

So given the number under your name and the fact you went all yellie... yelly... yell... capitals with the ages, your saying you've been through most of this before? You know... people plagiarizing... and saying the same thing over and over and over...
Still I try to give recognition where it's due. And you always seem to have a good thought process on issues. There are a few people on the forums that get my brain matter sloshing about. You happen to be one of them...
Though from me to you if we had the same idea you may want to seek some help if your thinking like me.
Back to the issue at hand. What ideas for display locations, colors etc. would people prefer? How about a notification sound as well for the repper? Nothing overbearing, just something you could hear as your armor is reknitting and reassembling, if for nothing more than immersion? That would be down the line maybe with an expansion? |

I've never heard anything from the repper while being repaired (the two or three times it happened to me...under fire...)
For injectors, So the Brink concept sounds good. Everyone knows who has what and where, assumably one might be able to tell how long it would take to get to the person needing help by distance indicated. Battlefield conditions notwithstanding, Add a bleed out timer to judge if you (or they) could make it in time and then we might have people waiting to get picked up instead of automatically hitting respawn... Now THAT sounds like a solid system to me.
Speaking of hitting buttons, we only have two to hit while down, "ask for help" and "respawn" correct? Maybe adding a third for "stay away" or "wait" or "too dangerous" or something of that nature could also ease some of the pains of the logi's trying to run across a potential hail of gun fire only to either get cut down themselves or, more often by the sound of it, get there just as the individual falls to ashes. It would also provide a bit of intel as to what sort of situation the logi would be running into. Perhaps not so important for those with mic's but for all those who don't it provides them the ability to communicate in a meaningful and relevent way to the situation, albeit in a limited manner.
Off topic @ Garrett - I was just messing around and being a bit of a sarcastic a** inbetween the 's. Except the brain sloshing thing. I meant that. I do the capital thing to emphasize as well, as 99% of the stuff I post on the forums is from my phone and it's just easier to do THAT then select the options up top then, using my sausage fingers, try and pin point the cursor inbetween the tags. So no worries man. No wrong impression here. |
