Hi guys and gals,
I am a complete newb to dust but I have played eve online and have enjoyed my time there immensely.
I logged into the game during the event earlier today so I could get my free suits, but when I logged on just a bit ago my suits were nowhere to be seen.
I did not receive a message at login stating which character to assign the suits to and I am free suitless as it were.
I live on the west coast in the US and I logged in at about 1:20pm. I played one match and then had to log off because I had to be back at work. (playing on my lunch break, yeah I am that addicted to free stuff.)
Anyways, I guess my question is did you have to play through the whole event to get the free stuff?
Cheers, Dom
P.S. Yes, I write all internet correspondence like a letter. No, I am not over the age of 60.

Many people such as yourself have asked the same question. While this does not make it a bad or stupid question, it does deserve some answers.
It is important to note that while CCP did in fact state that anyone who played during the event would receive these exclusive dropsuits, they did not say WHEN these people would receive their dropsuits.
If you have any further questions, do not be afraid to ask. Enjoy your West Coast weather.
Sincerely, Gamma-Omega |

The event rewards we've received in the past during earlier builds (more skinweave suits, SP, ISK) all took a while to get. The very first skinweave reward I think took several weeks, spanning 1 or 2 builds to get to us. SP and ISK rewards took a week or 2 to get to us I think. It might be there tomorrow, it might be a couple weeks. You'll know when you get it, you'll be prompted as to whether you want to assign it to the character you're logging into when it gets awarded to your account. |

I would expect the suits to be applied to your character at the same time they release the new update (sometime this month), as this is what they have done in the past. |

I would bet they just need to run a script to give them to the people who showed up. I haven't gotten mine either... but these things can take a little time. CCP has all of the stats from the event. We'll get em'... just be patient. I don't know if you got the Mercenary Pack... but I would bet when they are given to us they'll show up in a redemption screen in similar fashion. |

Oh good, I hope I get mine. I joined up as soon as it started. Played one match from like 19:02 to 19:12 maybe. Then the match ended, we won that one. I was going to play one more, but when I clicked return to Merc HQ, I disconnected, re-joined, then it put me in a queue, I had to leave home, so I turned it off. |

Hello fellow feline buddy,
The letters/formally format is just a way to be polite and/or a form of respect on the forum (something rare to see here but pleasant when it gets).

In several notes provided by CCP, the word "later" was used to describe the timeframe in which the suits will be received.
No word on how different - if at all - this timeframe is from SOONGäó. |

Hey all, i wasn't even able to make it for the event. How exactly do users like me get a chance at this event(?) as i have a life which limits my time to play games, and a job (one that i couldn't just skip out on/be late to) simply for a ingame event item. Will these "permanent" event suits be made public/available for those of us who do have jobs, and work and cannot attend events like this? Or are users like me at a huge disadvantage and unable to get any form of chance(?)
What really grinds my gears though is i seen this event pop up via my ingame mail (got it yesterday at 2am -4 GMT on 12/1/2012) but i stood no chance as i had to go to work at 1pm - 2am the following day (a 14 hour shift) which resulted in me being 100% unable to even attend this event.
It is now 2:48am -4 GMT, and i basically had 0% chance to even get the event are their any others like me who are essentially screwed as well due to real life jobs, or duties? And has ccp been known to give users like myself advanced warning so we can prep for it (or even if possible call off from work) (In my case i cannot but for others i bet you may beable to).
Im hoping a CCP employee or someone incharge of the planning behind this event will beable to answer my question, so please, dont go looking to prod or argue with me on this as i only seek answers, and a fair chance at something i wasn't able to get due to time constraints/personal real world duties

You're probably out of luck this time around. There may be more events in the future, but we don't usually get a *huge* amount of advance notice for them, though I think it's usually been more than a few days in the past (the email was kinda late on my end too, but it was posted in the announcement section of the forums on Thursday I think). This has been the second time the suits have been offered throughout the closed beta, so there might be more chances at them later down the line.
You aren't missing out on anything amazing, though, in all honesty. They're militia-grade items, the lowest of the low, and I think they come with no pre-fit modules, so they may be less cost-effective than a starter fit depending on what you use. They're just a color variant of the militia suit to show off. Chances are people will have multiples that they'll be willing to put on the player market when that comes in (I know I'll have at least 1 extra of each suit), so you might be able to snag one there, but they might be outrageously expensive as a collector's item. |

I'm a user like you. When I miss an event, I plan to use the money that I get from my job to buy items that are equivalent to the ones awarded to people who participated in the event. The only thing you can't buy right now is a BPO heavy suit, but I'm sure CCP will make one (at militia level, at least) available eventually. |

Well i have a Skinweave Logistics suit, from a previous event, does this mean i get two, not really fussed. Main beef is i am a Logi class, and specked out the proficiency level for Mass Drivers. I was wondering there seems to be officer weapons that do a lot of damage for other classes, why are there no officer Mass Driver weapons. for logis |

Previous events have been a weekend long. This particular event was about getting as many people on at one time so they limited the time in the hopes of accomplishing that. Stick around and you may get another opportunity that works better with your schedule.
The Skinweave are basically militia grade gear. Its nice to have but you'll soon be in higher grade suits. There are three tribute suits which cost Aurum but are Type-I suits and worth purchasing and the money helps CCP. Money is good since developers and servers cost money. |

ahh thanks for the reply back all, i tend to use isk based suits, as its easy for me to get a few mill isk ingame. Just i prefer not to buy Aurum to fund my ass-kickery, seems pointless unless its a perma suit, and as it so happen's i've already bought em all out so theirs no point. Thought i was actually missing out on like some super awesome suit that kicks ass, not some low grade garbage. |
